Our condolences to the family. She was one of the nicest people we have ever met. Kind and gentle.

To Sheela's family - It was with much sadness that I learned of your loss and great appreciation of your words for a mother, wife, friend of all with whom she came in contact, and gracious human being.
I worked with Sheela during her newness in Contracts and Grants and her more responsible years as a Comptroller. She was always willing to help others understand and successfully complete what was needed (by both sides). Her gentleness and wisdom will be greatly missed by many; the University community amoung them.

My deepest condolences to the Moudgil family and to the extended families. Sheela will be greatly missed. Sheela is a remarkable woman who demonstrated courage, grace, strenghth, and is a loving, caring person. My heart hurts for her and her family.
"Let us consider this hurt a sacred thing and ask ourselves, do we have the courage to transform it into something that can refine our soul." Let there be room for this. "Letting there be room is allowing for a space, a sacred space, where we can be fully present with our pain." As things fall apart, so they come together again. Excerpts/Quotes from Gary Z McGee and Pema Chodron at: http://fractalenlightenment.com/26127/spirituality/turning-wounds-into-wisdom-the-power-of-transforming-pain-into-strenghth. See especially Akhilandeshvari, The Goddess of Never Not Broken.

Please accept my heartfelt condolances for the loss of Sheela. She was my supervisor and mentor for almost 7 years. Because she cares about people and wants them to succeed, I learned more from her than any other supervisor I've ever had. She also made me her homemade cherry cheese cake for my birthday one year because she knew I loved it. An extraordinary in every sense of the word woman. I will indeed miss her.
