I went to high school with Milt and I was always proud to say I knew him and considered him a friend, I remember one day I say Milt, Tom and their father running side by side in their sweat suits three 6ft 4in handsome men, that was about 65 years ago and I see that image often in my memory, a little late but good by Milt from Vincent Jiovino

I first met Milt when he was doing a motivational talk in California. We became close friends and he also became my mentor. He inspired me to reach for my own dreams. When I stayed in his home, he placed the Gold Medal in my hands. I felt a very powerful energy and shivers went through my body. I credit much of my own success to Milt's inspiring advice. He was the world's greatest athlete and he was also the world's greatest friend. Thank you Milt for your genuine friendship. Your legend will live on and the many lives you touched especially the inner city youth is what many will remember you for - a true Saint.

To Ms. Rush and the Campbell Family,
The name Campbell must mean spirited.
We have a retired Coach Campbell in our city that not only won many state championships himself in high school and college but, also coached Roosevelt High School's Track Team to nine state championships. Motivation was crucial to those young men winning. Our Coach Campbell must be related to Milt. I am so sorry for your loss. As a young girl there was a lot of pride in the city of Gary, Indiana when Campbell made his triumph. May the Lord continue to carry you in this time of saddness. Milt Campbell will forever be in many of our memories in Gary, Indiana.

My daddy told me that you were one fast dude. He also told all of us kids (7) that he ran track with you in high school, and you broke just about every record that needed to be broken and you always left him and the rest of the team in the dust. Rest in Peace Mr. Campbell, your time on earth is now called a legend.
