Bobby Hill Obituary
He was born in Carroll County to the late Ferd and Elsie Combs Hill, and was preceded in death by his wife Faye Hill.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi Jo and Joey Marshall of Fancy Gap; son, Jeffrey Hill of Hillsville; grandchildren, Seth Hill, Brooke Hill, Jared Marshall and Josie Marshall; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Donna Hill of Fancy Gap; sister, Emma Jean Slusher; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Patricia Winesett.
Bobby was co-owner of Hills Farms, Inc. and a well-known cabbage farmer.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home Chapel at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Wendell Horton, Elder Edward Bowman, Elder Russell Vass and the Rev. Maria Grimm officiating. Burial followed in the Independence Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Bobbi Jo and family my heart goes out to you in the loss of your father. I came to see him for home health and I found such a wonderful man and friend when I started see your dad.He was always smiling when I got there never did he complain . To my life long friend, Bobbi Jo, and her family: I have fond memories of spending time at the Hill house and growing up with you. Bobby always came in with a smile on his face, just as pictured here. My parents were able to pay for my first car with the help of Bobby & Larry using our field to grow cabbage...and I am so thankful. And, thankful for a beautiful soul like Bobbi Jo. You don't get that way without wonderful parents. Thanks for the memories.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hill family during this moment of loss. Bobby was one of the finest men I have ever met and he gave me one of the first jobs I ever had working in his cabbage fields.Such a character and likable man and he always had a smile on his face. Bobby leaves a great and lasting legacy with all the wonderful family he leaves behind. Great kids and grand-kids! My prayers are with you all...!
