Sue Lindsey Higgins, 84, of Galax, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Twin County Regional Hospital.
She was born Nov. 22, 1928, to the late Melisa and Ernest Lindsey in Hillsville, Va.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters, Geneva Guynn, Alyene Byrd and Freida Patton; brother, James; two baby siblings; and infant daughter, Terri Lynn.
Survivors include husband of 59 years, Jack G. Higgins; brothers, Ivan Lindsey and wife, Mintie Ann and Ray Lindsey and wife, Brenda; niece, Dana L. Higgins; nephews, James Guynn, Patrick Lindsey, Jason Lindsey and Larry Lindsey; and 11 great-nieces and two great-nephews.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, beginning at 2 p.m. at Twin County Funerals Sanctuary. Gary Boyette officiated. Burial will follow in the Jennings Cemetery, Hillsville.
Higgins lay in-state from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. Family received friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Twin County Funerals.
