Kathryn M. Miller, 90, of Galion, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 at home.
Born Sept. 22, 1922 in Sandusky, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Sylvia (Campbell) Scherer. She was preceded in death Sept. 1, 2002 by her husband, Walter Miller, Jr. whom she married June 14, 1942.
Kathryn was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Galion and founded Galion's M & S Pizza in 1953 where she enjoyed all the neighborhood children that came in to buy "penny candy" over the years. She appreciated and loved her grandchildren, always calling and asking, "What are ya having for dinner?" apparently secretly hoping they'd bring her some!
Surviving are her one daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn M. "Kathy" and Richard Hall and one son and daughter-in-law, Walter Paul Miller and Donna Miller, all of Galion; six grandchildren, Terry (Cliff) Murphy, Julie (Gene) Moyer, Rick (Stephanie) Hall, Nathan Miller, Nicole (Shawn) Beck and Jacob Miller; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary M., Andrew, Grace, Evan, Zachary S., Braxton, Madison and Makayla; one brother, Glenn (Shirley) Scherer of Westerville and one sister, Virginia Lindenberger of Norwalk.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline and a brother, Richard.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
