BELMONT - William "Jack" Grindstaff, 79, passed away Jan. 25, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical in Wilmington.
He is the son of the late Luther and Sally Davis Grindstaff.
Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed. He was a navy veteran and also an eagle scout. He was a member of the Brunswick Senior Resource Club in Supply, N.C. Jack and Pat have lived at Holden Beach for the past thirteen years.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading and cooking. He was loved by many. Jack loved all his friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Pat Grindstaff; son, Johnny Grindstaff and his wife, Trena; daughter, Jackie Grindstaff; grandchildren, Erika Fisk and her husband, Todd, Hunter Grindstaff and his wife, Amanda and Amber Baker; great-grandchildren, Lan-den and Miles.
A graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Gardens with Pastor Raymond Johns.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hope Ministry, Catawba Heights Baptist Church, 311 Belmont Rd., Bel-mont, NC 28012.

Uncle Jack you and Aunt Pat gave me many happy child hood memories that I will never forget,Beach trips in that old motor home and up to Burington NC to visit your family and picking corn,and helping out at the car wash,you were a father figure to me and I will always be greatful to you and Aunt Pat for all of your love and support.I just wish I had told you this earlier but I will always remember you,Love you Uncle Jack.Deanna Pridmore
