I have just learned of the death of Private First Class Dane R. Balcon. As the State Chaplain of the Georgia Society Sons Of The American Revolution and speaking for our President, Charlie A. Newcomer, III and more than 1,400 SAR members around the State of Georgia, may I most humbly express the condolences of a grateful Society. Wrapped in the integrity of service to our nation and the inestimable values of duty, honor and country, your American hero stood on a wall of freedom for us all. His life and his love of country epitomized every attribute of patriotism the Sons Of The American Revolution hold dear. And, as Americans, we could never repay the debt we owe him ..!! Nor the debt we owe you… his family!!!
Sweetheart, you were such a wonderful person who took passion in everything you did. I can remember you in history class jus talkin and talkin about what you were gonna do at drill practice. lol I remember you gettin up in front of the class and showin us all what you can do. You are a person that will never be forgotten. You heart was gentle and sweet and I wish you wouldnt have left us so soon. I know God is takein good care of you up there. hi my name is kristin and i went to warren with your son dane. im not really good at this but who would be? im really sorry. i want you to know that your son was an amazing person altogether. the first picture that came to my head as soon as i heard dane passed was his smile and his laugh.although we talked here and there i am glad to say he has made an everlating impression on me. i am happy to have met such a strong human being. your son is a true hero in my eyes. we are all the better for having known him even though it was for a short while, but he came into our hearts, and we will keep him in our hearts, and we were left with the one desire that we will one day meet again!
RIP "Lil Dane"
You were a great guy Dane and we will miss you all. I won't forgot how you first taught us to spin our rifles and became our mentor in that aspect. You are a hero.
Carla, our prayers are with you and your family at this time. We are deeply sorry for this tragic loss of a young life. We know Dane was loved and respected by many. Dane served proudly and leaves a hero's legacy.
Dane was an amazing person. He could always make you laugh. He loved to shop. Every time I've seen him in school he always had a smile on his face. Then we both got stationed in Texas together and every time I was at the mall I saw him shopping. Your family will be in my prayers and I know how deployment feels. My husband is due to deploy soon and I am also in the army and feel getting deployed.
Dane, all of us from Sand Creek will miss you so much! You were such an amazing person, I will never forget seeing you play in the drumline at school. You were so talented. Rest in peace old friend.... And for his family, my heart and prayers go out to you, as does those who knew him at Sand Creek.
