Mike and all! Thank YOU! Yes George was quite the rock/fossil guy! With that "baculite" he found on the Mesa...they had to rewrite the text books used in Mr. Remington's class. We still have his "Rocks" ... Some of the best times spent with my brother were fossil hunting over on the west side of Colorado Springs. Then getting run off because it was a Church property. LOL...He/We were always causing trouble! Good Times! Thanks All! George suffered a weird unusual stroke...and his passing is actually a blessing. I pray he is now hunting and fishing and fossil hunting on God's terms and turf!

I was very sad to learn of George's passing. Growing up in Colorado Springs, he was one year ahead of me in my classes at Edison, Mann, and Wasson. Even today, decades later, I cannot drive up Fillmore over the mesa, and not think of him. For back in the 1960s, he did a "show and tell" for our class of a baculite fossil he found on the mesa. (He was in Mr Remington's 5th Grade Class at Edison). I was absolutely mesmerized. I think seeing that fossil helped inspire me to be the mineral collector I am today. I will never forget that. Though I did not know George well, I will never forget him.

Linda and Chelsea...you have my deepest sympathies for your loss. It is a loss that will be felt by all who knew George. He was my friend and I will miss him.
