I miss you Edward Peter. I miss your pretzels, games and peaches. I will always remember your pride, the pride I saw in yours and your friends eyes at the Bataan survivors memoriam in 'Querque. I live to honor you and Paul.
I miss you Edward Peter. I miss your pretzels, games and peaches. I'll never forget your pride, the pride I saw your eyes, shared with your friends in memoriam at the Bataan survivors remembrance in 'Querque. I live to honor You Ed and Paul.
I will forever remember, and share, my incredible grandpa's story. I hope to be unstoppable like him.
Paul, I am sorry for your loss of your father. I never met him, but I had learned of his time as a POW in the Pacific. Your father was a brave man and I am proud of his service for our country. I have shared his story, as I knew it, with many people. May you find comfort in your memories of your dad.
Ed, You were a friend to him during your Pacific POW years, and then, later, cared for him (my mother's cousin Clarence "Billy" VanRay) after he was injured and died on the Brazil Maru in late January, 1945. You visited Billy's mom and his aunt after the war to share his story with them. My mother, Abbie Joy Stodder Kleppa, only 20 years old at the time, spoke of your kindness and service to Billy all of her years. Thank you for your goodness, your service, your courage. I wish you peaceful rest after a life very well lived.
You will be missed Grandpa Ed. Thank you for everything you have given your country, community, and wonderful family.
A person to respect. A great grandfather.
All our thoughts and prayers from The Hermann Family. God Bless The Ed and and the entire Konik Family.
