He did not die in vain. He died protecting the innocent and giving a tyrannized nation a better life. He truly is a hero.

Captain Sizer,
Ma'am I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the sorrow you feel. I pray that God will bless you and heal you. I am so thankful for soldiers like your son. Our country needs more like him. God bless

Capt Sizer,

I know there are no words to ease the pain of losing your son. I know you will never forget him. But please know that I won't forget him either. He left this earth as one of this country's most honorable men, doing the most honorable profession... The Profession of Arms. I am truely grateful for his courage, determination and willingness to serve this great country. God Bless you and your family.

Captain Sizer and family,
Being apart of the Air Force family and also the Academy family, I hope you understand that we are all here for you and your family. It is a great loss for you. This past summer, I explained to my mother that I was not afraid to die and was willing to serve my country proudly when called upon. I believe this was the same way that your son felt. It takes a certain kind of person to wake up every morning and face death with the possibility of living to tell the tale or having the man you saved tell it for you. It is that man who is a hero for all because they gave what had been given to fight for the same thing you and I are fighting for daily, freedom. I wish you the best and know that no matter the situation, you have many people to back you up in every way.

Mr and Mrs Sizer, My heart goes out to you in this time of sorrow. What a brave son you have-one who would sacrifice his own life for all of us. I cannot express my deepest sympathies for your loss. I am and will constantly be praying for you.

Although I never knew PFC Balcon, I cannot begin to express both my deepest sympathy for your loss, and the gratitude that I have for the sacrifice that he was willing to make. My prayers are with you and all those who have lost loved ones in service to our country. God Bless America, and thank you!
