Baboo,

It has been over a year but your impact on me will last a life time. I am forever grateful to have been able to have such a close relationship with you and Baba. So many great memories that I love reliving! Cape Cod, thunderstorms on the deck at old house, searching for hours with my telescope, you insisting it was a terrible idea to build a sledding trail in the back yard (although you were right, I can't say I ever took your advice!). The list could go on and on. I don't want to bore you with too many details as I am sure you are with me each and every time I find myself thinking of the great years we had together.
I love you and I miss you Baboo, but I know you are watching over each and every one of us. And don't worry, I will make sure to keep Baba in line!

Ricky and our son Andrew were the same age and loved to get into trouble together. Laura and I talked about our concerns whether they would graduate from high school. We became friends through KYT. I admired her so much for her ability to introduce her boys to both her religion and Ted's. Raising her family and going for a masters degree took a very extraordinary woman. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Dear Ted, Chapel Hill was such a special place, an enclave of smart, funny, curious and vocal people: the Leonards, the Clancys, the Golds, the Belskys. Book club and play reading nights were wild and wooly with all opinions freely expressed. I know my parents, Myrt and Sol, loved all of you dearly and had a special place in their hearts for Laura. I remember her as soft spoken and whip smart with a lovely laugh. My thoughts are with you and your family. Sincerely, Deborah Gold-Avery

Dear Ted,
My very great sympathy on your loss of Laura. I very much enjoyed reading about her life in the Gazette. I always felt that your long marriage was a very loving one and enviable.
Sincerely
Dorothy Gorra

Dear Ted, Mike, Chip and Ricky,

I was so sorry to hear the news about Laura. She will always occupy a warm place in my heart, as a neighborhood mother who stayed centered and calm, no matter what we kids were up to. I also admired how she pursued her own education and interests even while serving as the anchor point of the family, as a strong team with Ted. I am so thankful that you arranged time together for us with her on a visit to South Hadley a year or so ago, and it was obvious that her inquisitive spirit was strong and lively, as always. She served as a positive and enduring role model for those of us privileged to grow up in her steady presence on Chapel Hill. With much love and support to all of you. Although we can't join you in person on Aug 4, please know our family is with you in spirit as you celebrate Laura's life and legacy.

Dear Ted and all the Belskys: I am so sorry. Laura was the warm and loving second mother living at the other end of the path to next door, the one I knew I could run to if there was ever any trouble. She created a serene home, a welcoming and fun home, and is forever a strong presence in our minds. My love and condolences to you all.
