I first met Luis at the Asheville School when we were in our early teens. We were friends, then close friends, then less close friends. Sad to say, we drifted. But he was best man at my wedding, and visited my wife and me in Europe, and to the very end stayed in touch on the telephone. Luis was a master of myth and story--may he rest in peace. --Bob Brooks

I will always remember him tending the plants and engaging in stimulating conversation at Henry David's. He was a gem!

Luis often called the library, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day to inquire if we have a particular title or books about people of interest. And he always had a story or 2 to share. He was always interested in knowing more about the student assistant or supervisor who answered the phone, their area of study and their interests. My conversations with Luis always left me with something to think about. I know how important the small act of being kind was to Luis and I will try to pass it on. I regret not having ever met Luis or being able to say good-bye. Luis will be missed and our days at the library will be a little less coloful.

Luis was such a vital part of The Bond Wellness Center family while I was there. His sense of humor and fine intelligence will be greatly missed.
