My heart goes out to Mrs. Weaver, his children and Earl's entire family.
I grew up in Rochester as a Red Wings fan and lifelong O's fan. Earl was the epitome of baseball...heart, unbelievable passion and work ethic. The world of baseball is better because of him. He will be missed by all, even the umpires who might not want to admit it. RIP Mr. Weaver...#4 lives on forever.

R.I.P. Earl Weaver - Thank you for you constant striving for following rules and your insistance on practice, practice, practice. "Deep Depth" and using a player on pure statistics was ingenius. Hopefully Heaven will have a place for you to smoke a pack of cigarettes in the dugout!! Please say hi to Dave McNally, Pat Dobson, Mike Cuellar, and Mark Belanger, and be to nice Ron Luciano.

I can picture Pat Santarone waiting at the Pearly Gates for you with some of his freshly picked tomatoes, and saying, "Hey, what took you so long to get here?" He loved you. My condolences to Marianna and family.
