My Brother and best friend, I am missing you and can't wait 'till we are together again.
I have faith Kurt is fishing and catching those ten pound bass. My cousin will be missed many
For the last eight years I have heard Kurt's big truck pull up next door. It always made me happy because I knew Kurt was there to do something with Dominic. Over the years I have watched Dominic transition from an unsure little boy into an incredible young man. That is a testament to the
love, and devotion Kurt provided for Dominic. Along the way, I was honored to know Kurt as well. I know your loss is overwhelming, but hopefully you find comfort in knowing you spent 30 wonderful years with a man who was truly a gift to the Universe. The world would benefit greatly from more Kurts.
May God's peace and love be with you always.
Duane and Esther Harder let us know what happened. Frank and I are praying for comfort for you and your family. Much love in Christ, Frank and Christi Gac

Laurel, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Words cannot describe what you are going through but I hope they can help you in healing.
With love, Calie Griffith & family
Our times shared are etched forever in my memory,On the water and hunting Elk. Piney Creek adventures, spitting on the hot stove and playing cribbage all nite with the bugles in the backround. Watching Band of Brothers all day while eating milk soaked graham crackers. I Miss You Kurt.
Tho graced to know the man Kurt
For what seems only short while,
His goal in life was to fix hurt.
His heart in fact: wide as a mile!
He'd stop if you were broken down,
He'd stop you if you're wearin' frown.
If he didn't have a tool,
Kurt could fix it with a smile!
As a fisher, never last;
Among the best that ever cast!
But when our Lord dangled the bait,
Kurt knew then; He couldn't wait.
Kurt's not really gone just yet,
Ask someone and I'll just bet:
All the good this man has done?
His life still lives in more than one!
Laurel & family: I am incredibly saddened and so sorry to hear of your husband's passing. Saying prayers for strength and understanding during this difficult time.

I am sorry to hear of Kurt passing. My condolences to you and your family. You all are in my prayers!!
My condolences on the loss of Kurt. I had the honor of knowing him as a friend and teammate in high school. He was an independent spirit who always looked after his buddies. His big laugh and smile always gave a lift to others. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Laurel, My thoughts and prayers are with you, Rex, Matt and your family in this most difficult time. I'm so glad I was able to see him again at our 30th reunion. God Bless..

Laurel - I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is with you.
I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. Kurt was one of the good guys! Prayers for you, my old friend.
Laurel, Rex and Matt - So sorry to hear the news of Kurt's passing. Wally was like a brother to me and we learned a lot about life together back in the day! From our time on the gridiron as part of the "Fearsome Foursome" to Friday BACs, we had a ton of fun together. I look forward to seeing him again someday in heaven where he can teach me how to fish properly.
My prayers are with you.
Laurel, I am shocked and in complete disbelief that Wally is gone. It was just two years ago we all saw eachother at the 30 yr reunion. The crazy times that we all had in highschool, Quincey bridge, push starting that Chevelle, smoking cigars, playing football, throwing shot and disc, camping and just hanging out I will recall them all with a smile on my face. I wish you all peace and healing in these difficult times. Skram BaLoo.
My love and prayers are with you Laurel, and to your extended family at Rocky.
We are friends of Phil and Diana Mace and send our love to the entire family. May you have peace that only God can supply.
With love and heartfelt sympathy,
Billy and Jane Orton
So sad to hear this news! Sending thoughts & prayers to comfort family & friends.
A good friend and one helluva competitor! Our times of tournament fishing and stories told will be our fondest memories of Kurt - a gentle giant! Fish on, Kurt!
I only fished with Kurt one time but he helped me a lot on that one day. He went 100% all day.
I remember him fondly from high school. I am sad to hear of his passing. My prayers are with his loved ones.
I just wanted to say that Kurt was a great guy. I only got to meet him a few times but every time he remembered me and was great! He was a big inspiration for me in tournament fishing. He will be missed by many.
I went to high school with Kurt and Rex and my thoughts and prayers are with Kurt's family and friends. Wishing you peace and light during this difficult time.
Both my grandson Dominic and I have been truly blessed to have had Kurt in our lives for the past 7 years.
I know in my heart that Dominic will honor his memory by being the type of man that Kurt would have been proud of.
Thank you Kurt for everything you did for us.
Rest in peace with the good Lord.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all! Kurt was a sweet heart with a great smile.

I went to high school with Kurt and he was a good friend -always laughing and joking.. My prayers to his family and friends.
My condolences Laurel. I have known Wally since our days at Smoky Hill High and have shared a lot of great times with him. From driving in his first car (The death mobile) to catching our first Bass at Quincy. We spent time in the woods hunting Elk with my dad as teenagers and time on the water after turning a beat-up boat into a makeshift bass boat. We will all miss you Wally! Our times together will never fade. God bless Laurel, Rex and the rest of his family.
I didn't know Kurt, however, because I know how people loved him, he was a joy to those who did know and love him...So very sorry for the family and friends for their loss.
Laurel, as I read the tribute to Kurt, I was so touched by what a great partner, friend, husband and wholesome man he must have been. Please know you have many supporters during your grief and rest assured Kurt is in a peaceful place probably fishing in heaven's waters....
Dear Laurel, my heartfelt condolences to you. So many people pass away after a long, painful disease. I have always said I want to go fast, working in my wood shop. Kurt was lucky to be doing what he loved. Your friend, Glenn
Kurt was great friend an mentor and will be missed by his friends and family. I had the great pleasure of knowing Kurt for more than 15 years and have many fond memories of him, unfortunately we won't be able to add to our list. I know today Kurt has a line in the water (in a lake in heaven filled with 10 lb bass)as he always tried to do on January 1st every year. Hopefully he catches a big one today. I will miss you my friend!
Scooter Mandilay (as he used to call me).
I am do saddened to hear of Kurt's passing. Even though it has been many, many years, it is easy for me to remember Kurt's sense of humor and caring, gentle nature. With deepest sympathy.
My thoughts are with Kurt's family during this trying time. Kurt was a pleasure to know, and he will be missed by all.
Fish with the angles my friend.
What a loss. An inspiration to those who would enjoy nature and make a difference in many lives. I know he will be missed
Bless all of you that are going through such a tuff time. Haven't seen Kurt in many years but have many memories.
So sorry to hear of Kurt's passing. Kurt was my "little" cousin, but also a good buddy back when our folks owned a restaurant together. He made our time washing dishes or bussing tables fun. We competed to see who could clean and set a table the fastest and he always won! I remember his sweet smile and twinkling eyes. Rest in Peace, Kurt. I know you're in a better place watching over your family. I'm proud to be your cousin.
Our dear cousin who sounds as great of a man as he was a little boy. Sweet, sincere and easy going. Fish with the Angels Kurt, I imagine all our moms and aunts, grandma and grandpa welcomed you home in all the glory you deserved.
A good man will be missed and true outdoorsman is finally home.
