I remember Capt. Fitch speaking about this horrible accident at our Rotary Meeting. His explanation of what happened that day was riveting. He was a born leader and remarkable individual. I will never forget meeting this man and grateful for his heroism!

Condolences to the family of Danny Fitch. Just been watching aircraft investigations so sad to read of Danny's death. By all accounts he was a great guy and I'm sure he is now been rewarded for his selfless actions. Hero's never die.

I have read many accounts of United Flight 232, and watched multiple interviews with the pilots present in the cockpit during the incident. I was always struck by Dennis' compassion for those whose lives were lost. He and his fellow pilots on July 19, 1989 will always be heroes in my book. My condolences to his family.

An addendum and reflection on my comment of 21 July 2018. It wasn't until today (10 May 2022) that I noticed that I posted that comment on my 52nd birthday. It's a tad ironic that I eventually became a "Quickly driver" for the taxi company I drove for. Denny, I hope to see you and Al on the other side of the river when it's my time to cross. Paul in CRP

I just watched the documentary on the heroic actions of Mr. Fitch and the other pilots one more time. I think this is the 10th time I do so. The words at the end in such soothing voice “never give up” have been of enormous meaning to me. I’ve been ready to give up many times since, and his voice o goes somewhere for me, I have held strong to them. I have heard them many times in my life and had little meaning until I heard them from someone who has endured, as he did, so many challenges. I...
