Tim and I were very good friends at Tunstall High School and we performed in two musicals together there, BRIGADOON and WEST SIDE STORY. I have many fond memories of him. He had a great sense of humor, and a brilliant mind. Although we lost touch shortly after high school, I have thought of him often. I'm not surprised to learn he had a life filled with scholarship and travel. I hope he had many happy times; I'm sure he brought light to everyone who knew him. I will remember him always with deep fondness and affection.

To the Carter family:
Words cannot express the shock and grief that I feel over learning of Tim's death. Tim was the "gift" in GIFTED...His inquisitiveness, persistence, observance, wisdom, and his ability to communicate with all people was amazing. He did more in one lifetime than most of us could even dream about. I have such wonderful memories of times spent laughing with Tim and the rest of your wonderful family. May our wonderful God give you the ability to get through this time of mourning. I will never forget Tim.
All my love,
Judy Robertson

To my brother, Tim

I will always remember the day mama and daddy brought you home from the hospital. My sisters and I held you lovingly as you were placed in our arms. Daddy had chosen your first name Timothy and your middle name, Neal, was the same as our mother's. At a young age, you loved to read the encyclopedias where you could read about famous people and events and dream of far away places. You were the scholar and the dreamer in our family. You were also the entertainer in our family. You entertained us around the kitchen table, during our picnics, during our camping trips, and in the car as we traveled on our vacations. In the early stages of our mourning, God sent four rainbows in one day. My heart is broken along with the rest of our family, but those rainbows helped me to know that one day, we will be united again. I love you. Lee Ann

To all of Tim's family and friends,

I was shocked today to hear of Tim's passing. It's certainly not something you expect when you work with students and I cannot imagine your sense of loss. Please accept my deepest sympathies. I have been so very proud of his many accomplishments. Even in far away Miami I heard bits and pieces over these many years. If it's not too late please let me know when his memorial is scheduled (lawr3188@roadrunner.com). Kentucky is certainly a lot closer than Florida and I would like to be there. Regardless, please know that you and Tim are in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless and care for each of you now and in the future. Yours in Christ.

To all of the wonderful Carter family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your son, brother, uncle, and loved one. I was so amazed at the wonderful life Tim must have led and the lives he must of touched from reading his obituary. I know you are so saddened with the knowledge of his death, but just hold on to those wonderful memories. He did things that most of us only dream of doing. His life made a difference! I love each and every one of you! My prayers have been and continue to be with you!

I remember Tim quite well from high school. He was brilliant. I enjoyed talking Bible & theology with him in those years we were so young. Prayers for all. May Tim rest in peace & rise in glory. Lisa & I will remember all of you in our prayers.

Tim was a special person who never met a stranger! His conversational skills allowed him to meet and befriend many people in all walks of life. The Carter family has held a special place in our hearts for many years. What a blessing that Tim was able to travel and see places most of us only dream of! I will always be grateful to him for his translation of a letter into French to help me play a joke on a friend who was in France struggling to learn the language. Both Tim and my friend are now in heaven rejoicing with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our love and prayers go out to Sam, Willa, Lee Ann, Lynn, Cathy (as we know her), Kim and the rest of the family in your loss. Your loss is heaven's gain!
