Maxine Elliott
Maxine A. Elliott, nee Zalders, 95, of Collinsville, Ill., formerly of Maryville, Ill., born May 28, 1917 in Collinsville, died Wedensday, August 22, 2012 at Liberty Village, Maryville, Ill.
Mrs. Elliott worked for Modern Linen in Troy, Ill. and Basler Electric in Highland, Ill. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet, loved to bake, loved animals and loved to shop. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Elliott on August 18, 2003, whom she married on December 18, 1934 in Troy, Ill.; her parents, Charles and Antonia, nee Romanitis, Zalders; and a brother, Victor Zalders.
Surviving are a son, Ronald Elliott of Granada Hills, Calif., two daughters, Darlene Knecht of Simi Valley, Calif., Charlene (John) Rogenski of Maryville, Ill.; grandchildren Pamela Beck of Simi Valley, Calif., Ronda Elliott of Granada Hills, Calif., Michelle Shatsar of York, Penn., Shawn (Tracy) Jeffrey of Simi Valley, Calif., Erika Elliott of Granada Hills, Calif., Jennifer (Douglas) James of Creve Coeur, Mo., Christina (Timothy) York of Edwardsville; great grandchildren, Catherine (Chad) Clark of York, Penn., Stephanie (Troy Thompson) Shatsar of York, Penn., Elizabeth Shatsar of Fla., Cynthia Shatsar of York, Penn., Jason (Sarah) Beck of Simi Valley, Calif., Kyle Beck of Simi Valley, Calif., Jack Jeffrey of Simi Valley, Calif., Erik Elliott of Granada Hills, Calif., and Christina Elliott of Granada Hills, Calif.; great great grandchildren, Avery Thompson of York, Penn., and Evan Clark of York, Penn.; sister-in-law Dorothy Zalders of Fairview Heights, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Liberty Village of Maryville for their loving care they gave to our mother.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2012 at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. Cremation follows the visitation.
