I was a patient of Dr. Hotchkiss 40 years ago when I was 16 years of age. I lost my leg due to injuries in a motorcycle accident. After my father signed papers to amputate at the hip he was able to save my leg below the knee due to his incredible skill. We still talk about him fondly today. He was a great surgeon! God Bless!

We have just learned of the passing of Dr. Hotchkiss. He treated both of our sons. One in 1981 and the other in 1985 . He was a kind professional who understood how to care for his patients but also their parents. His skills were exemplary . This is a huge loss to all. Our sympathy to his family,he was a gem.

Of just receiving the news of Dr. Hotchkiss's passing, I am so sorry for your loss. He cared for our son, Michael Cance, from a newborn until almost the age of 20 years old, when Spectrum said he couldn't anymore because Michael was over the age of 18. That was a very sad day for us. When Michael was born so many Doctors had given up on Him, they didn't know how to treat him. (Michael has a serious form of Osteogenesis Imperfecta.) Then came Dr. Hotchkiss, ready and very willing for the challenge of treating him. We learnt so much together and was a pillar of strength for me when I thought I was going to have a break down. He performed 35 major surgeries on Michael to help make his bones more stable, and treated him for over 200 fractures. I learnt so much from Dr. Hotchkiss, and grew to be so much stronger through his wisdom and strength. He use to kid around and tell me how many of his kids Michael help put through college. Without Dr. Hotchkiss, I don't think I could of gotten through taking care of our son by myself. He helped me find the strength, willpower and knowledge to go on. May God Bless you and your family, and I know Dr. was truly Blessed.

We knew Brian from church and deepened our friendship while chaperoning with him on our Mayflower Youth Mission trip to Denver, CO in July 2010. I discovered the secret to his vigor and passion for life was his profound faith in Christ. We truly became Christian brothers. We are blessed to have know Brian in our short time and celebrate his life. Take care, my friend. You will be dearly missed but your legacy continues, see you later!

What a wonderful tribute yesterday at the Memorial Service for a man who made the world a better place. He certainly was a role model and gave help so generously to so many. What a way to live a worthwhile life with such faith in God!

I was a patient of Dr. Hotchkiss from age 2 to about 22. So many hours spent in his office. He has a special place in my heart for all he has done for me. I really wanted to attend the service but the storm unfortunately is keeping me from doing so. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Dear Hotchkiss Family: I met Brian in late 2011 and was privileged to work with him on one of his most passionate healthcare improvements. We spent a lot of time together and became good friends. My condolences for your loss. Humanity has lost a good man.
