Dear Gwen, Brian, and rest of the family: This news breaks my heart. Your mom was so special to me and I credit her with creating a love of school and learning in me. I'm not sure you will remember me, but your sweet mom kind of "adopted" me when I had her as my first grade teacher at Townline in the early 70's and she continued to take me places and include me in some of your family functions (I remember going to the cottage at the lake, spending the night at your house, etc.) for years afterwards. I'm so glad I was able to tell her in my adulthood how much she meant to me. I'm sure she made a big difference to many, many other kids as well! God bless you all during this sad time. (P.S. My last name used to be Johnson)
