I was fortunate to know Tom in his last years of life. We chatted about shared memories, He was a great friend of my brother, John Leonard, having attended St Stephen Elementary School together. As a friend of John he visited our cottage on Lake Michigan. He delighted in recounting memories of our cottage life at Delvin Grove, Holland, MI, including memories of my Grandmother, Mary C. Donnelly and Uncle Will Fenlon. Tom also told of hunting gofers that tunneled thru Nana's gardens. Tom even had stories of my father, Michael Leonard. Tom and I shared experiences of days at Aquinas College and Michigan State University. I enjoyed sharing with him the fun of our early beginnings. I feel fortunate that Tom was able to share these unique memories with me as we chatted on the phone. Thank you, Tom.God bless you.

I first met Tom at the Fisher Body plant in Grand Rapids. Once I left there, I did not see him again about 6 years ago when he was visiting his wife at Clark Retirement, where my father resides. We immediately picked up our conversation where we left off many years ago. Always a welcoming smile and gentle demeanor. Once we concluded our conversation, he popped into his beautiful white convertible and drove off. He was indeed special. But our loss his heaven's gain. Rest in peace my friend.
