ELLENS, GERALD Gerald Ellens, aged 84, of Cutlerville, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, August 1, 2014. He was born on April 29, 1930 to Harry and Minnie Ellens in Highland, MI. Gerry worked for VanEerdan's Produce Co. for 40 years and after retirement at McDonald's and Crystal Springs. Although work kept him busy, he still made time to serve in his church, fish, drive the athletic team bus and serve as sports booster president. for South Christian. He and his wife avidly supported their sons in all their sporting events. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 65 years, Margery (Schut); four sons and their wives, Greg and Herma, Tom and Lonna, Brian and Amy, Bruce and Karen; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tim (Maya), Mike and Annalissa (Mason), Steve and Carla (Olivia, Addison), Stacey and Drew Langstraat (Paisley, Chelan, Trig, baby due soon) Jodi and Phil Bolkema (Elle, Lillian, Krew, Asa), Brian II, Brooke and Jason VanAssen (Wyatt, Beckett, Portter), Jason, Danae and Aaron Alsgaard (baby due soon), Caleb, Tanner, Drake; former daughters-in-law, Nancy Ellens, Mary Stevens; brothers, Sid (Agnes), Chuck, Gord (Judy); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry (Helen) Schut, Jay (Marylou) Schut, Ann Parker, Jan (Ron) Scott, Kathy Schut; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, John and his wife, Audrey; and sister-in-law, Nan. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 33 Elwell, SW; with Rev. David Adams officiating. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Gerry may be made to the DOCK (Discipling of Christ's Kids) at Immanuel C.R.C.
