Sincere condolences to all of Gary's family and friends. Sorry I heard about Gary's passing too late to attend the funeral.
Cross-country and track at Central High were great fun with Gary. But our exploits outside of school are the most memorable. The summer of 1970 at Frankfort (Carlson's cottage on Lower Herring Lake) and summer of 1971 on South Manitou Island (Carlson's property at Gull Point) were some of the best weeks of my life. We could have regaled you for hours with the tales of those adventures.
Even though Gary and I lost touch over the years, my world is a poorer place knowing Gary is no longer in it.
RIP, Gary, RIP.

I love you, Uncle Gary!
I'm sorry we are so far away and can't make it to say goodbye.
You will always be the one to make me smile as I think about you returning me to my "real" family, lifting me up and saying you're going to throw me in at monkey island.
Or how you would tie my tights together at my feet so I had to hop around the room.
I love that you were always silly. And that my son got to love you as well.
We love you, Uncle Gary.
I hope you knew that.
