One of my first memories of Aunt Betty was of the first time I spent the night after we moved to Michigan. The next morning Scott said we'd have cinnamon toast, which I had never even heard of. So after the bread was toasted and buttered he got out a plastic bear that had sugar and cinnamon in it, well I thought if a little cinnamon is good more would be better, right. We used the whole thing of cinnamon, I had it piled on maybe a half inch thick and just as I was trying to figure out how to pick it up and eat it without loosing all the cinnamon, Aunt Betty came in the kitchen and wanted to know what we were thinking. This being the first time ever having cinnamon toast I was at a loss as why she was upset, she dumped off all the cinnamon except that which was stuck to the butter, and even without all the extra cinnamon it was still great. I still like cinnamon toast today. Of course I was scared of her for years afterwards.

I was saddened to read of Betty's passing. She was my neighbor for many years and used to stop over to chat whenever I had a garage sale.

My mom Rosina(Rose)Hinton and Betty worked together at Koeze's and were good friends. My mom still talks of Betty often. She wanted me to send Scott,Diane, and the rest of the family her condolences. As a family we all loved going over to Betty's house in the summer and hanging out in the pool. Then in the evening my parents and Betty would spend hours playing cards. Betty would never want them to leave. She always made us feel very welcome.Maybe Betty and my dad are watching Wheel of Fortune together, and most likely playing a hand of cards. Our thoughts are with all of you during this most difficult time.
