Clay is one of the biggest reasons I got into barbershop singing. I would run through a brick wall for the man. He was a great leader and a consummate artist. We just lost a legend.

I left out that Clay directed the GLC at Internationals not only in '81 but also in '83, '88, and '89

Clay was a long time members of the GLC, a director who had taken us to International in '81, a great quartet singer, and coach. He in fact coached the GLC before we left to compete at Internationals this year and shared with us his stirring insights.

Clay was and always will be the "Captain" of the Great Lakes Chorus. To me he was one of the greatest barbershoppers & friend one could have. Heaven has a new member in its chorus. God bless you Clay.
