It is difficult to find the right words to convey my love, admiration and gratitude for Dr. Mann. I have a deep sense of loss at his passing. Working as his secretary from 1957 to 1983 was not only a great joy, but an inspiration. His professionalism, his expertise in pathology, and his many great abilities did not stand in his way of genuinely caring about his employees and colleagues. He was my mentor and friend for many years. After I moved to Florida we kept in touch regularly. I had intended after my return from Italy a few days ago to call or email him with seasons greetings. Unfortunately, that was not to be. I thank and praise God for his life, for his great influence on mine and the fact he gave me a chance at life when he hired me so many years ago. Please know how much I care. It truly hurts and I shall miss him.
