It was with deepest regret I learned of Pat's passing. He and his wife lived down the street from me during my teen years. They not only hired me for my first job, babysitting precious Shelly, they graciously and caringly mentored me during those formative years. Even after they moved multiple times, Pat would still drive across town to pick me up to stay with Shelly, whom we all treasured and loved so much. Then came the second baby and he was so excited about that! He loved being Dad! During those rides, I recall his unique way of being so funny, but so mentoring, making me think about the future, classes to take, etc. For several years, they sent cards with updates on Shelly's growth and progress and what was happening. We sadly lost touch when I moved out of state. But I will always owe them a huge debt of gratitude for all they did for me and those around us. We lost a truly special soul, but what we learned from him will live on. May you find peace and comfort in your loving memories.
