Lyle Cheyne Obituary

CHEYNE - Lyle W. Cheyne, age 90, of Newaygo, formerly of Byron Center, passed away unexpectedly and was called to his heavenly home on Monday, October 10, 2011. He was a World War II veteran, proudly serving his country in the Army Air Corps. He retired from C&O Railroad after many years of faithful service. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Edna Cheyne, Agnes Cheyne; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; four great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr., with Pastor Paul Riley officiating. Interment Boynton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, as well as one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com. He is much loved and greatly missed! I'll never forget the kids calling him "Uncle Grandpa" when they were little. He and Dad looked so much alike. RIP Uncle Lyle.
