So sorry to hear about Chris. Unfortunately our paths never crossed after high school, but it is so heartwarming to hear that he remained the same kind, fun-loving, life-of-the-party kind of guy he always was back then.

Carol & I met Chris & Jan at the Hawks Nest in Marathon Key at the foot of 7 Mile Bridge on April 20, 2002. We started off with a "family" fish grill that evening. To Chris everyone was family even those, like us, that he had just met. The next morning he woke us up with cup in hand for a bloody mary, not to be known by Jan, (of course she knew). We all went to Key West where Jeff shamed Chris into picking up the tab at newly opened Crabby Bills. We went boating on the Donzi, Chris helped me catch a barracuda. We saw Chris off and on through the years. He always had a smile, joke and laugh for us. He will be missed by us. Jan and family you have our sympathy. Remember all the good memories he gave you and all the others whose lives he touched.

I have known Chis since high school, what a wonderful person he was. When he introduced us to Jan you could tell it was a perfect match. I'll never forget our school days, our trip to Ohio walleye fishing, the trip to Tennesse to the Elk convention, the trip to North Carolina tounament fishing, and the fun we had in the Keys! The way you dropped everthing and brought Bill down to Georgia to help look for Kyle. Chis you were a true friend, great husband, a wonderful dad, and the way your eyes lit up when you talked about your granchildren no one loves them more than you. You will be missed by all that knew you, until we meet again Rest in piece.

I had a chance to take care of Chris at our hospital and he touched my heart. I would visit him even when I didn't have him as a patient. His smile and quick wit would make my night. I enjoyed our talks and how full of life he was even being stuck in the hospital. Chris, I will see you in heaven my friend, rest in peace. To those he left behind I'm so very sorry for your loss. There are not words to express how truly sad I am as well as shocked. My prayers are with your family at this time.

Dear Chris...we never told you this, although I'm sure you knew...D and I "borrowed" change out of your change jar...only sometimes, we had great fun and did all the things that teenagers do. I'm sure we were loud and crazy and yeah you might have yelled, but now you can see after all those years what wonderful children you helped to raise. May you fly with the angels and have peace in your heart knowing that you did a great job! You will be sadly missed but so fondly remembered...forever

I knew him as Chase, I met he and Jan in a parking lot in Florida, picking up our new team boats, I was immediately drawn to this couple. Over the next 10 years, we traveled to st Thomas to marlin fish, Hatteras to tuna fish, key west, and more. I was lucky to get to spend many a July day and evening in Michigan riding horses and singing and story telling until the wee hours of the morning. Chris and Jan were the example of fun, love, and family. Fishing with Chris his brother Timmy, his nephew and his dad, pops, one labor day weekend the anniversary of my owns dads death, I felt a sense of family bonds that I have never seen in a family other than my own. Chris acknowledged every person he came in contact with, either with a joke and a chuckle, or a helping hand...his goofiness was unforgettable, thank you Chris, and Jan for being such an important part of my life, you made mine, like so many others, better. Much love and happy memories, and of course, smiles.

He had made some incredible changes in his life.our children really got to see the best of Chris, he was the best Papa. He loved my Mom so much. We were so blessed as a family.
