I was a lucky student sitting in Mr. Calkins Creston High School-10th grade. He brought a new appreciation to classical music and I followed his career over the years until his retirement. He really was a pillar of the community. I wish we had clones of Richard Calkins.

Dick was a beautiful person bringing joy, creativity and friendship to thousands of people who crossed his path throughout his life. It was a privilege to have been his classmate and friend. God bless you, Dick, as you continue to spread the music of your life that was so uniquely you beyond this world to the next.

So sorry for your loss. He was a good man. Thanks for the memories at GRCC (JC).

I have great memories of Dick as we were childhood friends at Aberdeen Elementary School and Creston High School. Dick and I were drafted into the St. Marks Cathedral Boys Choir in the late forties and rode the public buses to choir practice four times a week without adult supervision, those were the days and Dick was quite a character... He will be missed.

Dick was a classmate at Creston '56. My condolances to his family.
