Marcia & Scott - I will never ever forget the happy little boy that I met so long ago during my first visit to California. I am so truly sorry for your loss. May God bless you both for the strength that you are going to need for the years to come. Grant earned his angel wings and will be with you in your heart and memories forever.

My husband and I are so sorry for you loss. My husband is a vol. firefighter and it is a brotherhood. No matter where your from or what department it is, the firemen feel the loss of a brother firefighter. We are so sad over the lost lives and especially of Grant, I grew up in Norwood. May God welcome him with open arms. He was a true hero.

The Firefighter's Prayer

When I am called to duty, God, whenever flames may rage;

Give me strength to save some life, whatever be its age.

Help me embrace a little child before it is too late

Or save an older person from the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout,

And quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me,

To guard my every neighbor and protect his property.

And if, according to my fate, I am to lose my life;

Please bless with your protecting hand
my children and my wife.

This brave, young man will always be 21 years old. Just 21, and he already knew a level of unselfish devotion that some will never get. God bless him and you, his family, forever. Thank you for sharing him with us all for the short time he was here.
