Antone Kraszewski Obituary

Kraszewski, Antone C.

Antone C. Kraszewski, 94, Pulaski, died peacefully Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Woodhaven Manor in Pulaski. Tony was born June 14, 1920, the youngest of Leo and Katherine (Wentland) Kraszewski's three children. On June 13, 1942, Irene Budzban became his bride. He and Irene were happily married for 70 years. Tony was a lifelong member of Assumption B.V.M. Parish in Pulaski, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Bona Council #4439, Pulaski.

Tony carried the spirit of adventure in his soul. His travels included "riding the rails" west to Oregon as a young man and a road trip to Alaska with his brother-in-law, Harry. He farmed in the Pulaski area most of his life. After retiring, he and Irene spent winters in Arizona and Florida.

In addition to traveling, Tony liked to play cards, dance and go for Sunday drives with Irene and spend a few hours with a fishing pole in his hand. He was a loving and good husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family.

He is survived by two sons: Anton P. (Pat) Kraszewski, Green Bay, Alan (Darlene) Kraszewski, Suamico; a daughter, Mary Lou (James) Majewski, Pulaski; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Delores Budzban; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, who died peacefully at his side on September 17, 2012; his parents; his son, Tom Kraszewski; an infant grandson, Alan Kraszewski; a granddaughter, Kathy Majewski; a daughter-in-law, Rosemary Kraszewski; a brother, Sylvester (Evelyn) Kraszewski; a sister, Evelyn (Karl) Disch; and Irene's brothers and sisters and their spouses.

Friends may call at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 124 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29th. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. presiding. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Woodhaven Manor and, also, Unity Hospice for the care they extended to Tony and his family.

My sympathy to all the family of that dear Tony. What a lovable and caring man he seemed to be. We delivered meals to them the last few years they were on their farm and it just touched my heart so, watching him take such loving care of his dear wife, "Chumsy" (as he would call her) while he would set up her place to eat and help her to the table in such a tender manner, I couldn't help but think of the wonderful relationship they must have had. God bless you, dear family, and just enjoy the wonderful, precious memories of your parents, being together for 70 years. What a blessing!
Sincerely, with fond memories of him, Joan Matuszak
