Cecelia Whiting Obituary
Cecelia Whiting, 85, Oconto, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at the Odd Fellow Nursing Home, Green Bay. Cecelia was born Nov. 11, 1928, in Manhattan, N.Y. She married John Whiting on March 28, 1951. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2007. Cecelia put a lot of time and effort into the renovation of the Oconto City Park. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and AMVETS Auxiliary.
Cecelia is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Chris) Bitters, Lena; Sandra (Tim) Geyer, Green Bay; two sons, Neil (Sue) Whiting, Juneau; James (Judy) Whiting, Green Bay; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. Memorial services will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.

In Memory of Mrs Cecelia, "Ma Whiting" your laughter still remains on the South Side the Whiting family comes up often when we talk about the neighborhood our base ball teams, ice skating, and Ma Whiting telling us to be good and don't get into any trouble, hope she is still doing her "Warsh", Wash!!!!!! To all of Cecelia's children, to have the laughter on the South Side, playing ball across the street, never a day your Mother didn't worry about what or where we were, and say "You's kids" of course with her New York speaking words, she was the best, loved her very much,know that God has given her the wings, she so truly deserved, a special Mom to many of us, May God Bless all of you, and keep Mom's memories going, Jeannie Young

Neil,Jim,Bonnie,Sandra and Family- Sending our sincere condolences to all of you.We will always remember Ceil for her smile and infectious personality. Wherever she went she seemed to engulf everyone around her and take them to that same happy place. She will never be forgotten by those whose lives she touched. Aloha Grandma, you have finally crossed to the other side to walk and run hand in hand, with youthful energy with your beloved husband, Grandpa John. Perhaps even now you are dancing the hula once again. I love you so very much and know that you are in a better place. You will surely be missed. Rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with Cecelia's family. I have lots of wonderful memories of Cecelia, as she was a dear friend to my Mother and Father. She was truly a sweet women and always brought smiles to everyone around her. May God Bless her Family.
