Donna & Family: I had made it a point to visit with Rodger's dad when I got back to Luxemburg. I always looked forward to our visit because I had an early bond with the Dorner family. For Billy his younger brother was my best friend. What I regret most is not having a closer relationship after I left Luxemburg. In the times that I was able to visit with his dad he reassured me through his faith that everything was OK. He truly loved his family because he made it a point to mention them in our talks. I truly loved this man as if he were my dad. You can be sure that you hit the jackpot for a husband and father. Rodger was a few years older than I, but he was also a friend of my brother-in-law and boy did I hear some stories. Of course time has the lapse time that we seem to forget. I know you will miss him dearly, but he's got some great company and to think they are paving our way is pretty exciting. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time and that you find comfort in knowing the Lord is with you. He has told us, Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you.

Sending our love to you from Texas. Roger was a great man with a smile and a joke for everyone. He was a blessing to all who knew him. He will be missed.
