William Brennan Obituary

Brennan, William "Buffalo Bill"

William "Buffalo Bill" Brennan. 74 years old. Friend of many. Ephraim, Ireland, Green Bay, Chicago, Milwaukee, Sheboygan.

Husband, Father, Stepfather, Grandfather, Brother, Mentor, Coach, Comedian, Saveur, Sailor, Salesmen, Footballer, Boater, Alpine Skier, Hot-Air Balloonist, Advisor, Fashion Consultant, Eagle Scout, Politician, and Maestro.

Buffalo Bill, born in 1939 to Maurice and Peggy Brennan. Raised on Kellogg Street in Green Bay with younger brothers Dan and Tim (Marilyn); the Brennan Boys had reputations for fun. Tim and Marilyn shared a lifelong connection with Bill. Buffalo Bill had a strong positive effect on many people throughout life. Attending Catholic Central High School and St. Norbert's College where he made a noticeable impact. He was a good football player receiving scholarships to Iowa State and St. Norbert's, choosing to stay close to home at St. Norbert's and marry Katherine Hockers during a blizzard in 1959. Buffalo Bill was a supportive and attentive father of sons Quinn and Louis. Bill was an active participant in the seventies, spending long summers on his boat, the Sinn Fein, on Andersen Dock in Ephraim. The fun caught up with the Buffalo and he gave up drinking; he recently celebrated 35+ years of sobriety. Bill was a supporter and advisor to many friends in need.

Bill married soul-mate, true-love and dance partner Jean Pamperin in a surprise wedding ceremony during their St. Patrick's Day party in 1986. They've had over thirty years of romantic fun, surprising achievements, and wonderful adventure. Jean's existing family became Bill's family. Buffalo Bill played an active role in the lives of Mary Jo and Jim White, Jennifer Geisel and Tim Tegen, Julie and Dennis Murphy, Marcus and Faye Belschner and Michelle and Greg Libert. Many grandchildren surrounded, supported and hung-on every word of Buffalo Bill. - Anna, Alex, Derek, Tony, Tim, Nick, Jackie, Andrew, Noah, Abby and Ryan.

The Buff's grandsons, Jack and Connor Brennan, sons of Quinn and Suzanne, have many fond memories of unusual adventures, unlikely activities and a magnetic character. Buffalo enjoyed visiting them in Philadelphia and later in Door County to spend quality time with his boys. He was very interested in Jack & Connor's athletic activities and spending summers at the Pearl cottage on Eagle Harbor in Ephraim.

Buffalo Bill was the ultimate salesmen, starting off in the lucrative 60's adhesive tape business moving to plastics packaging in the 70/80s, finally joining Jean as business manager in the fashion apparel industry. Bill and Jean enjoyed business success as well as a very rewarding life partnership.

Buffalo Bill's zest for life included a continual positive outlook and enthusiasm to "charge-on" after life's hurdles. This served him well. His ability to form a positive connection with any person of any age of any circumstance was magical and affected the lives of many people. He touched many.

William Maurice Brennan passed peacefully on Feb 12th after a short illness at Sheboygan's St. Nicholas Hospital under the expert and understanding care of Dr. Francisco Soto, MD. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks and commendations to the professionals at St. Nicks.

Friends may call at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church on the St. Norbert College Campus, 123 Grant St, De Pere, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. BRENNAN FAMILY

i NEVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING BILL, NO DOUBT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE. HIS PICTURE AS A YOUNG MAN BROUGHT BACK A WONDERFUL MEMORY. MY BROTHER, DON, AND I WERE CLASSMATES OF DAN AT ANNUNCIATION SCHOOL. ONE DAY, PERHAPS IT WAS THIRD GRADE, DAN'S LITTLE BROTHER FOLLOWED US INTO THE CLASSROOM AFTER RECESS. HE WAS MOST ENTERTAINING. THAT WAS UNTIL THE NUN IN CHARGE REALIZED HIS MOTHER WAS PROBABLY SEARCHING FOR HER SON. HE WAS PROMPTLY SENT HOME. THAT ENDED THE FUN. I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS DELIGHTFUL LITTLE STORY.

BILL'S STORY WAS BEAUTIFULLY COMPOSED. HE WAS CERTAINLY ENGAGED IN LIFE AND LEFT THIS WORLD MUCH TOO SOON.

My memories are more of the younger Bill. I was a close friend of Bill over our time at CCHS and Premontre High School. I met Bill as a freshman in HS as his mom was a close friend of my mother. We played football for 2 years and had many classes together. We always managed to find fun on the weekends at the Prom tavern capping off the nights at Sammy's Pizza and Krols. My prayers are with you Bill, a very good friend and an all around good guy!
