The Latimer Family…

On behalf of Texas Christian University, we extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Kim, the children, and the family of the sudden loss of DeWitt.

Your husband, father, and son, had a profound impact, as a leader in many aspects within our community, but the “compass” that guided and contributed too today's higher educational communities, in which he truly left his “mark”.

When DeWitt Latimer was scheduled to speak at one of the conferences, we found ourselves seating in the front row, always learning something new, and most of all… we could always count on… that one slide that would bring the room to roaring laughter that only “he” could deliver, regardless of the size of the group.

We are grateful to have known Dewitt, as well as experience firsthand the unique and distinct differences he made in so many communities throughout the country.

He was our “compass” and will be missed.

With Heartfelt Sympathy,

Travis Cook & Steve Ambrose

I was very lucky to work for Dewitt at the Unverisity of Tennssee. He was an incredibly intelligent and talented man and I am sorry that he is gone. I always enjoyed his dry sense of humor. I will never forget sitting next to him in meetings when he would kick his shoes off and put his feet up on the table! It always made me laugh. I would just like his wife and children to know that he will be missed here in Knoxville too.
