Pauline Scott Jewell
Greenville
Pauline Scott Jewell, 93, daughter of George and Janie Friar Scott and loving wife of the late William Jewell, passed to her eternal home in heaven on January 30, 2013
She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, friend and neighbor and loved by all who knew her. In her one year at Laurel Baye Nursing Home, she became the staff's "pet" and was admired by all the residents for how quickly she moved around in her wheelchair! She was an avid seamstress who had many women in Greenville gracing the streets in her handmade designs. She was a faithful member of City View Baptist Church and, in her later years, she was faithfully ministered to by the Cherrydale Baptist Church Shut-In Ministry.
She is survived by three children, one daughter-in-law and two sons-in-law: Martha and Ken Sprouse, Billy and Shirley Jewell, and Dianne and David Batson. She was lovingly called "Meema" by all her grandchildren: Ginger Jewell Blagg, Dionne Jewell DuCote, Scott Sprouse, Jennifer Sprouse Thompson, Chip Batson and Billy Batson. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Tina DuCote, four brothers and four sisters. She has 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Vickie Smith for being a wonderful and devoted caretaker for our mother for the past eight years. Vickie, you are family to us and we love you very much.
The family would also like to thank the staff and doctors, especially Dr. Phamm and Dr. Barton, at Laurel Baye Nursing Home. We could not have asked for more love and attention be given to our mother than was received while residing at Laurel Baye. We will be forever grateful.
The family kindly asks in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherrydale Baptist Church Shut-In Ministry, 2300 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, SC 29609 or the charity of your choice.
The family will be at their respective homes.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church, 403 Sulphur Springs Rd, Greenville, SC 29617 at 10 am with the Funeral Service at 11 am. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park immediately following the services.

What a pleasure it was to be a part of the Jewell family, although not the ending I had planned, but what a hilarious, Godly family to be part of
