THOMAS R. SLOAN
Travelers Rest
Thomas Reasoner Sloan, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Greer Memorial Hospital.
Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Shannon and Lucile Reasoner Sloan and was of the Presbyterian faith. Mr. Sloan served in the U.S. Army during WWII and after his honorable discharge went to work for the Southern Railroad for 40 years. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion of Interlachen, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Robbie Stewart Sloan; daughter, Tina Duggan; 4 grandchildren, Russell Summerall and wife Jeannie, Michael Summerall, Michelle Phillips and Kim Phillips and many loving great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by 2 daughters, Terry Arthur and Barbara Sloan.
Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with receiving of friends one hour prior from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Burial will follow at Coleman Memorial Cemetery.
The family will be at the home.
