My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Mr. Woods was the best teacher I ever had. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
We are praying for the family.
I knew your smile as a student at Hillcrest, Mr. Woods, and you made our graduate class at Brynes so much fun. My prayers are with you, Jennifer, and all of your family and friends. He lived his life's tribute every day, and he will live on in all he touched. Enjoy the rest our Father has given you in Heaven.
Dear Frances and family,
So very sorry to hear of Clark's passing. You and I were in the same class but I certainly remember the "upper classmen" and Clark was one of them. It was so wonderful to read about him and his many accomplishments at Hillcrest High. To see such a fine man return to his alma mater and give back so much to the community. I especially enjoyed going to the plant sales. What he did for those kids allowed me to feel I was helping a part of this school. Love, Susan Johnson Hutchinson
Fran, as you read all of these sincere thoughts and realize the extent of Clark's touch in so many lives, I hope it will fill you with love and pride. He was an exceptional man with a huge heart. I pray that God will comfort, encourage and give you strength.
Fran, Clark and I were classmates/friends at HHS, Class of '65.I am so sorry for your loss and you and your family are in my prayers.I pray for comfort of your hearts in the days ahead. He was loved and admired by so many. How proud you must be of the legacy he left behind.May God Bless you and your family.
Our family and Clarks grew up together, went to church together and then my kids had him in school. What an amazing, friend, brother, dad, husband, teacher, but most of all a true Christian.Beside all the things he was reconized for in front of the scenes, there were so many behind the scenes that he did for others! He cared about everyone, especially the kids he taught. Many times he pulled money out of his pocket to buy their lunch,a pack of paper, give them money for a movie because they were having a bad day,but most of all he gave his love and his time to anyone who needed him.An amazing gift he had of knowing when to "step in"For all of us who knew him,we suffer such a loss, but for Heaven, one of your Angels has arrived! Prayers to all the family for peace and comfort in the days ahead.

I split time between Mauldin & Hillcrest my Senior year (1994-1995) because of Mr. Woods. His reputation was so good that it traveled to Mauldin students who didn't have access to agriculture classes. At that time the two schools were HUGE rivals and crossing that line didn't go over well with a lot of people. I went on to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and competed on the Rodeo Team thanks to Mr. Woods encouragement after I was turned down at Clemson. He never let that effect my future success, as I had the highest GPA on the Rodeo Team earning a few buckles along the way. There are thousands of students who came to school every day only because they had him for a class or homeroom. When the new HHS was built, Mr. Woods almost had his "own" school down on the Agriculture end of the building. Going to his classes was like a vacation from real school. Mr. Woods always thought I could be a welder but after many attempts we decided I should stick to growing things. There is no doubt I learned more in one class in one year from Mr. Woods than I did the rest of my 4 years in high school. For that, I am forever grateful. My thoughts and prayers are with the Woods family. Thank you for sharing him with us for so many wonderful years! May God's peace and love surround you.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
I was lucky enough to have Mr. Woods as a teacher. There was never a day he wasn't smiling or laughing. His class always made my day. Mr. Woods was one of the few people who had such a passion for what he did. He loved his students, he loved animals but most importantly he loved his family. I always sat next to his desk and he would always tell me stories of his family. My heart aches for you guys as you go through this rough time. Mr. Woods will always be remember through out hillcrest high school, for all the lives he touched. I always looked at Mr. Woods like another grandpa. I will never forget the days we shared together. R.I.P Mr. Woods. It's not goodbye it's see you later.
I had Mr. Woods all four years of high school. He was one of the three teachers i came back to visit. He actually is the reason for the career i've chosen. He finally convinced me into becoming a teacher. He was always so easy-going. He rarely ever raised his voice to anyone. He was one of the few teachers at hillcrest that loved his job and loved helping the students achieve their best. He was an awesome person and had a story for anything and everything. My heart is broken for his family because they lost such an amazing man, but heaven gained a more than worthy angel. He and his family are in my prayers. He will remained loved by me and i'm sure the rest of hillcrest also and he'll truly be missed more than words can say.
Mr Woods taught me all four years of high school. My heart is broken that he has passed. I have so many memories of him that I well carry with me for the rest of my life. I'm blessed to have had him as a wonderful teacher. He was that rare kind hearted person who was not only a teacher but also a friend
Mr. Woods was a great teacher and friend to me. I've known him since my 10th grade year when i took his small animal class, He was a wonderful person to talk to about anything. If it wasn't for him influencing me to volunteer and get involved with animals i wouldn't be going to college next year to become a vet. I'll miss him dearly and wish he could have been at our graduation('14) this year. My pray's go out to his family.
Mr.Woods was a wonderful teacher.I always wanted to have his class in school. He was a wonderful person and man could he tell some good stories. He treated everybody the same regardless of who you were.Rest in peace Mr .Woods
Great teacher and a great person. He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers are with his family. HHS 2001
My prayers and thoughts are with the family. To know Mr. Woods was to love him.
Mr Woods was not just a great teacher he was a great friend/role model. We've had some up and downs but he always set me straight. He kept me out of so much trouble. He was always there for me when I need help with anything. He would stop what he was doing to always help or cheer someone up. Every year he would tell the class the same story's over and over but they never got old they were the best ever told. Clark Woods was the greatest/strongest man I've ever met. We love you and miss you dearly!! Rip Mr Woods gone but never forgotten.
Class of 2014
He was a great man loved talking to him when I was in school and whenever I saw him outside of school he will be missed

My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I worked with Clark for 13 years and never saw him without a smile on his face or a word of encouragement for his students. He was an exceptional man.
Great man..Great teacher. Truly will be missed
"Even in grief there is hope. For those who accept the Lord as their Savior, death is not goodbye. It's simply see-you-later." I read this in my devotional today and immediately thought of Clark and his family here on earth. I work at SSI Physical Therapy, and we all loved seeing Clark and his smiling face. May you all take comfort from this quote, in knowing that you will certainly "see him later", and that this good-bye is only temporary.
I am so sorry to hear of Clarks passing. He was always such a good person. I always remember the way he use to laugh when we were children. We played together at Aunt Verdies house, with Dennis,Dale, and Dean. You all are in my prayers. God Bless.
In memory of Clark, and also to you, Frances: My high school years were made brighter by the fun times we shared double-dating! Clark was like a brother to me and showed me that the simpler things in life were the most important and that being yourself would cause you to be the happiest person possible. All my love and sympathy,
Angie Weathers Shropshire
Mr. Woods was and is a great man and role model that leaves a tremendous legacy for all of us.
May God bless you in this time of loss. He was a nice person. He taught my son Joshua and was so good with him. I met him several times at the grocery store and he always spoke to me and often talked to me for a few minutes. I knew then why the students cared about him and loved him so much.
In memory of a wonderful, kind hearted man.
Mr.Woods was a loving and caring person plus a great teacher. he will always be remembered and he will be truly missed. you will be in my prayers. deepest sympathy..
Thanks for always being there for our kids.
he was a great teacher and a friend.we will miss him we will see him in heaven one day
As l set here my heart is broken for the family and all the kids whom had the pleasure of knowing this man. God has angles on earth and Mr. Woods was one of them. I had Mr. Woods 4 years for homeroom . My mom died late my 9th grade year, he always ask if I was ok. His story's gave me a reason to laugh . As a parent myself , it's important to weed out the bad people from your children's life, but even more important to add great people... MY requirement for all 4 of my kids were before graduation you must have Mr.Woods. 3 of them called today, heavy hearted. I had to go get the youngest from school her heart broken. The family of Mr. Woods ; you can be proud. God gave you the gift of calling this great man ( Husband and Dad) My love to all of you for sharing him.
RIP Mr. Woods, you were a great teacher loved by all. You will be truly missed.
Few people in the world have the gift to impact kids and a community the way Mr. Woods did. The entire Woods Family is blessed to be part of a person that leaves such a Great Legacy. If we all could be half the man Mr. Woods was, we will have succeeded in life. He was my Ag Teacher and 30+ years later, I still use the knowledge he taught and the jokes he told. May God hold you in His hands and give you Peace as we celebrate the life of this wonderful Man.
I graduated from Hillcrest with Clark, and he was as fine a man then as he continued to be for the rest of his life. We cherish you, Clark, and always will.
Rest in peace dear cousin, you were always admired by everyone. Some of my warmest memories were all of us being together at Papa Adairs house. Now I know for sure that same reunion is taking place with you and all of our loved ones that have gone before.I can see you and Papa Adair smiling and laughing and telling stories and twittling your thumbs.Until we meet again.
Fran, you are in my prayers and thoughts at this time. Clark was a great teacher at HHS and a classmate as well when we were students there. Prayers and Hugs!

As a former colleague, I can testify to the fact that Clark was a great man who impacted countless lives. I saw him live out his faith and lead young men and women with a patient and caring spirit that few could ever match. I hope that his loved ones left behind will take comfort in knowing how he changed the world around him for the better.
I shall never forget seeing Mr. Woods when I picked my daughter up at Hillcrest after school. He was one of the kindest persons I have ever known. I worked with his son, Brian for a little while. My deepest sympathy for the loss of a wonderful man, husband and father. Heaven has gained another angel. Debbie Alberson Bland

Mr. Woods was my brothers ag. Teacher and he treated us like family.,RIP WE LIVE AND MISS YOU
Mr Woods was not only a great teacher but also a great friend. I have nothing but fond memories of Mr Woods. Every year that I was at Hillcrest (1982-1986) I had him for Homeroom and every year he would let me take roll call which was a privilege. He always had a way of making EVERY student feel special and loved. I remember my Senior year, 1st day of school, nothing but happy screams erupted in the auditorium when it was announced that we once again had the privilege of Mr Woods as our homeroom teacher. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and also to everyone that his life had an impact on.
Mr. woods was a remarkable man that touched everyone that had the pleasure of meeting him. I can't believe that your really gone. I'll always remember your stories and the good times. You taught me there was nothing wrong with a little hard work and dedication could get you through the rest of the way. In my thoughts and prayers always.
The man that wont be recognized to people as just a teacher. But as the friend you could always count on.

Dear Woods family,
Clark touched many lives as a teacher, mine being one of them. He was a wonderful man and any one whom knew him was blessed to have met such a man. May he run the streets of gold and inherit his crown
Goodbye Mr Woods. You taught me a lot of things about life that I never fully understood at first, but down the road it hit me like "that was what he was talking about". I loved your stories and how easily you made all of us smile and think. To say you were a simple man would probably be what you would have wanted, but your lessons in life carried a bit of complexity to them. Ones that carried on with the listener far down the road. You were one of the most morally straight people I have ever met. No one could say a negative word about you. Thank you for being there every day for each and every one of us.
My deepest sympathy to the family. God bless you all. Thanks be to god for allowing Mr. Woods to be a positive part of so many lives.

Mr. Woods was one of the greatest men I have ever known. You were more than a teacher you were a friend, a mentor, and a confidante. Words can not express the gratitude I have for you. Almost everything I know about the inner workings of livestock I learned from you. Without you I would have never joined the FFA and become an officer 2 years in a row because my life was on the path of destruction until you straightened me out. Ill always love you and Ill never forget you.
Mr.woods wasn't just my teacher but he was a amazing soul on this earth that I was so blessed to know. He always encouraged me to reach farther in life and always lent a ear when I needed someone to listen. He will be missed by so very many people. I am so thankful to have had him in my life.

Mr. Woods was a wonderful man and teacher and will be forever remembered and missed.
Mr. Woods was more than a wonderful teacher, he was a memorable and wonderful person. He made everyone feel cared about and like they were more than just another face. He was greatly respected and love and will be forever remembered and missed.
Mr Woods was so much more than just your average teacher. Yes he taught the scripted school work well but what he taught us about life and ourselves as individuals was so much more. He never looked at any of his hundreds of children as a failure or trouble maker instead he encouraged the little things that others overlooked. He took the time to be silly but was also to the point. He touched so many lives even of the kids who didn't attend his classes. He gave us all a lesson of our own and I'm sure everyone has their own story of him. I feel sorry for the kids coming through schools now who won't have the chance to be touched by this mans kindness caring and very wise ways. He will truly be missed but always respected and looked up to.
Deepest sympathies to Mr. Woods' family. Keeping you all in our thoughts.
We are praying for the family. Mr. Woods was a great teacher.
Mr.Woods was a great and loving man. He was more than just a teacher he was a friend. He will dearly be missed.
Good Speed Mr Woods. You as a teacher changed so many lives simply by believing in those who did not even believe in themselves. Your spirt lives on in so many young lives you touched in your 33 years at HHS. Your presence will surely be missed. Your mission here has been accomplished. Rest in Paradise my friend.
So sorry for your loss. May god be with you all. Jack. Beth rodgers
