John is part of the Duke Power Family that I will always remember, fondly. John unashamedly spoke of his love for his God. I loved his cheery short visits both during his employment and after he retired. He loved to talk about his wife, his children and his grandchildren. He was always a blessing, always an encouragement. These were the days when we employees knew we were a part of the Duke Power Family. John was a long time member of our DPCo family and I remember in my early days of employment his kind welcome to my new "DPCo family". I have missed seeing John since I have retired and will miss knowing that I will not see him again, this side of eternity. I look forward to seeing him again in Glory! Wish I could have been at the service to meet his family that I have heard so much about and celebrate with you all, his "home-going". My husband and I will be remembering John through the purchasing of Gideon Bibles in his memory. May God be your comfort and strength and may you be comforted in knowing that John is enjoying his Lord and Savior as well as being reunited with loved ones that have preceded him. All praise and honor to God our Father, who made eternal life a free gift through HIS Son, Jesus Christ!
