What a wonderfully written obituary and life story. To Michael and Richard, and your families, my sympathies. I have kept a photo the two of you, your father, Neil, and my dog, Vito, by a Montana campfire, on my dresser, for many years. Your father had a great smile and sense of humor.

I had the pleasure to meet Mike 25+ years ago when he was visiting Rich in Helena, MT. He was the epitome of a hard-working, no-nonsense family man. He was an enjoyment to visit with and gain insight into the root of the values instilled in his son. I'm honored to have met him and grateful for my on-going friendship with his family.

After reading Mike's life story so beautifully written, I feel I can glimpse a life well lived to the fullest. Although your loss may feel acute, know that you carry many of his best qualities with you: Adventuresome spirit, knowledge of duty, optimistic outlook linked with humor---they're reflected both in you and your girls.

So sorry to hear about your dad. He lived a great life.
