A full life of accomplishments, Dr. L is sorely missed by many besides family...
I was blessed that Dr. L (not my usual OB) was on call when our daughter arrived in 1983. I had no idea he was trained in the LaMaze or LaBoyer methods, both of which I had hoped for but didn't expect. Much to my surprise, Thanks to Dr. Langon, I gave birth under low lights & a warm delivery room (no time for birthing room) & breathed my girl out. Dr. Langon filled an old-fashioned, white porcelain basin with warm water & placed my baby in it (cord still attached) at my side. I cherish the still shots my hubby took and will always be profoundly grateful to Dr. Langon for our memorable day!
Hugs & gratitude to his family for sharing him with all who were fortunate to have his assistance at our births!

Dearest Kay and family,
I'm thinking of all of you and feeling a deep sadness about your loss.
Mike was a great doctor, a wonderful man, and a dear friend. I was blessed to have him deliver my firstborn son, Ross Barker, in 1965 and more blessed to be a friend of your family during the time we lived in Greenwich. I cherish the memories of the good times I spent with all of you. I so wish I could be at Mike's service to celebrate his life and see you and your kids and grandkids. I will be there in spirit.
With heartfelt love for Mike and all of you,

So sorry to learn of Dr. Langan's passing! He was a class act! I'm sure the family will hear many stories like mine: Dr. Langan was on call when our daughter was born at 4:22 am. Despite being awakened so early, he was excited to learn that I was delivering via Lamaze, having been well-prepared by a nurse his practice highly recommended (Emily Beck?) Our daughter arrived quickly. Dr. L asked if we'd like to add LeBoyer (lights low & baby into warm water bath) Having read all about this method, I said yes & he set off to "find a pan". He placed an enamel tub of warm water by my bedside & gently placed my newborn in, umbilical cord still attached. I have photos of Dr. L's hands cradling her body in that tub of water that I cherish. Proud papa took photos & then Dr. Langan took our camera & shot photos of our newborn in her daddy's arms. So special! My thanks to his family for sharing this man with us! Fondly, Lynn & Bill Lavalette
