Lt. Atlas,
I did not know you personally, but today you became a special part of me. During crossfit we did the 343 workout in honor of the 343 first responders who lost their lives on September 11. I was given your name and told to do this workout in remembrance of you. I held your card close to my heart as I went through the hardest workout of my life, knowing that it was nothing compared to the ultimate sacrifice you made. Thank you for your bravery and selflessness. I will never forget you.

Another year has passed my friend. I still cry on this day and when I think of you. Rest easy my old friend. Some day, we will meet again.
