To Aaron's mother and family & friends: I am WO1 Sean W. Mullen's sister. Sean was killed in Afghanistan on June 2nd 2013 and also of 5th group in KY. We have been surrounded by many of the same soilders that embraced you in Maine. I felt compelled to tell you how much we have heard about Aaron and how alive his memory is being kept amoung his Army brothers. I know from personal experience now that those tributes cannot even begin to dull the pain but in some small way it feels as if our loved ones are somehow connected. I pray that you have found even some small corner of peace.
My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and military colleagues of SFC Aaron Henderson. I will always be grateful to him for his service and sacrifice.
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also to let the Henderson Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms, SFC Aaron A. Henderson, U.S. Army. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Aaron. And to Aaron it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. Aaron you gave the last full measure of devotion for what you believed in and fought for. No greater love and patriotism are shown than when a man lays down his life in service to his country. Aaron, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Aaron's family and loved ones.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
I Salute You.

To the Henderson Family...We join you in your sorrow at the loss of your Son Aaron and know that one more hero now has a Heavenly address. We are so very proud of our military family around this world and all that they do on our behalf. May God give you comfort hence-forth and forever.
Christine, Sam, Kylie and kids, please accept our condolences on your loss. We got to Hodgdon High School in 1994 when Mr. Rafford was Aaron's Assistant Principal. We got to be part of Aaron's 95-96 Back-to- back State Backetball Championships! That is how we got to know the wonderful Henderson Family. Mr. Rafford was his soccer coach Aaron's senior year, and through that time frame, we got to see him grow as a shy freshman, to a confident senior! He had the world by the tail, and we were all proud to hear he had gone into the service. He has been deployed before, and we were not surprised to hear he had gone again. As a military mom, like Chris, there is a prodding little 'worry bug' running around the back of your head while they are away. I was so sorry to hear that the 'worry bug' proved true. No matter the rank, or the many accolades he has garnered in his career, it means nothing when that knock comes on your door.
In the time since that dreaded knock, the outpouring of love for you and your family has been steadily pouring in from all over the country! Chris, everyone would like to ease your family's pain, and the love you are receiving is both genuine and heartfelt. I am amazed at the depth to which Aaron touched folks, and it shows that he is never going to be forgotten. Bless you all.
So very sorry for your loss,,Aaron was a great man,who loved his family and country. I got to know him from the gym,, what a wonderful gentleman he was,,he will be greately missed,,and i will be praying for you the family, for piece and comfort from GOD. He surely was a HERO.
Aaron was an extra special man, just as he was an extra special Green Beret. I knew Aaron growing up in the same school, and had the same group of friends later in life. I, and our friends, shaved his and another friend's head the night before they left for basic training. We had a week-long going away party and I'll hold on to the memories of the great time we all had with Aaron.
For those that didn't know Aaron, he was extra special. Extra special smile, extra special personality, and a way of making you feel important as he cared about what you had to say. The kind of guy that everyone should have had the privilege to know. Obviously, it was this extra special personality that allowed him to succeed in the Army and become an elite Green Beret.
I am honored and humbled to have known Aaron, to have laughed and talked with Aaron, and to have been in the presence of his glowing personality and greatness.
Aaron we love you and miss you. Thank you for your service and sacrifice that us civilians can not even begin to wrap our minds around. To his family; God bless you all. I'll see you around Hodgdon soon, and am forever grateful for your son, his sacrifice, and your sacrifice as a family.
God Bless SGT. 1st Class AAron A. Henderson. Thank you for your service to keep us all safe. God Bless your family and friends and know their heartache is shared by others.
He paid a debt he did not owe, I owe a debt I cannot pay ~ Rest in Peace Brother.
Aaron was my High School sweet heart and best friend when I was growing up in Northern Maine. He had a heart of gold and touched everyone that knew him. He made you want to be a better person! God bless Aaron and his family! They are all true examples of Godly people. We are all blessed to know them. Aaron gave his left protecting us and our country. May his memory forever live on as a true hero, gentleman and amazing man!
I, and many other friends, were at the week-long going away party for Aaron and Scott Sjoberg when they joined the Army. I have many good memories of spending time with Scott and Aaron, and all the guys during that week, as we sent them off to basic training. Our final act of support for Aaron and Scott was to shave their heads for them, so they'd be looking clean-cut when they arrived at basic. A few of us shaved our heads with them, just so we were all in the same boat. It's a memory I'll cherish more now, and wish that I could relive because I believe that it was my last time seeing Aaron. He went on to accomplish great things, and I went to college and work. Our paths never crossed again, except for a few years ago on Facebook. I wish I would have kept in contact with him better and let him know that I still supported him and thought about him often. But, I know he understood. His personality was just that way; easy-going, kind, fun and funny, and never would have thought for a second that you weren't still friends because the busy-ness of life clouded the view of what was really important. Aaron was really important. His friendship and his presence was really important. My only regret is that I didn't take full advantage of having the absolute privilege of having such a special person in my life.
To Christine, Sam, and family, I am so sorry for your sorrow. I wish you peace, comfort, and healing. I sent a prayer up for you all; especially for Aaron.
Aaron, your friends love you. We miss you, and we're so proud of you. I am humbled to have known such an elite soldier, and a "larger than life" guy as Scott Sjoberg put it so accurately.
God bless Aaron, his family, and all of Aaron's fellow team members and military members.
He was my cousin, my comrade in arms, and will always be My Hero. Rest in peace soldier, Mission Complete.
Christine and Family, My deepest sympathy to you and your family for this most devasting loss. You are in my heart and prayers and I will be thinking of you all through this most difficult time. Your son Aaron will be forever remembered and honored for all that he did to protect this country and the people he loved most. God Bless.
Dear Friends; I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I have lived on the White Settlement Road my entire life and remember seeing both boys grow into wonderful young men. Know that it takes a lot of tears to make a rainbow. God sent rainbows to the Israelites as a promise of hope. Much peace of the angels, Suzie Duff
Dear Bob and family,
My deepest condolences in the loss of your brother. May the Lord be with you and comfort you during your time of sorrow. Even though I did not know Aaron personally what a wonderful thing he did laying his life down for his country so that we can have our freedom.
