May her memory be a Blessing to all who knew and knew of her.

Miss Trapp was one of the most wonderful teachers I ever shared the classroom with at Sacred Heart. Her milk and cookies bring back fond memories. She will be greatly missed by the hundreds, if not thousands of kindergarten children she served.

It can be so hard to face the new year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.
January 02, 2011
My knowledge of this family began when my parents took me to the production in Washington DC when I was 6, and I have been hooked on them since. They bought me the album, and I learned every song, and would play it non-stop. At 13, the theater in my hometown put on the production and I was Marta in that play. I am so sorry for the loss of one of these family members. My heart is with you all and my prayers will be for you as well. God Bless.
January 01, 2011
Dear Family Von Trapp so sorry to hear of Agathe passing. I am 52 and just recently watched The Sound of Music. I was so moved by the story that I investigated into the true story and I am so glad I did. the true story is as moving as the musical. I could not believe that the Captain was so strict and was very happy to find out in real life he was not. I feel sad that I had not seen the movie sooner. I would of liked to have known of this family before now. I only have been reading the true stories in the past few days and when I saw this posting about Agathe I was stunned. I thought it was an old posting. It might sound strange but I feel a loss in my own heart. My son and my mother and my stepdad visited the lodge in Stowe VT about 15 years ago when he was just a boy. He never stopped talking about it. He said he got to sing with the Von Trapp family and wrote many pages in his journal about it. You family has inspired many many people. God bless you all. The angles are going sounding even sweeter now that Agathe has joined them. My dear grandmother of 95 passed in July 2010. It was hard to have someone in your life that long and when they pass it seems so unreal. May all the memories of her heal your heart. I send my deepest sympathy. - Sarah Demers New Hampshire USA

One of my fondest memories growing up was watching the school production of the Sound of Music which my father produced in our school at the age of 8. It was my first experience to musicals. After the show was finished, my mother made clothing out of the curtains used in the show. From that day on, I followed the Von Trapp history and fell in love with your family. My condolences to your family. Agathe will be missed. Thank you to your family for entering our lives. You are a very inspiring family. Agathe's life will continue to inspire us and the strength and love that she showed to others will always be remembered.

From times past. We seem to forget the heroics some families undertook to escape the situation at the time.

We should all pause and pray this never happens again.

Agathe was a genuinely sincere, loving and giving person. She will be sadly missed by all, especially those closest.

May God bless the Von Trapp family, and God Bless Agathe Von Trapp.

May she rest in peace -- I have many fond memories of her mother and her mother's VW car and times our family stayed at the family lodge in the 60s and 70s when I was a child. That was before the huge build out - and I remember my mother and Maria speaking in native German.

Rest in Peace, Agathe Von Trapp. My condolences and prayers to her wonderful family. When I was a teenager in 1972, I read the book "The Trapp Family Singers" and it had a profound affect on my life. I have always loved the real story of the real family, not just "The Sound of Music" version. I'll always remember the phrase "God's will hath no why".
December 31, 2010
I just watched the tribute celebration of the Von Trapp family on Oprah... It was a heartwarming reminder of the times I have watched the movie; in part and the whole, and heard the wonderful music through the years..The film has blessed many lives; brave and passionate family..amidst extremely difficult times. Heaven surely gained more than just a singer.. Can't wait until I get there to join the choir or help tune the instruments that will be played for a remarkable-never-before presentation of praise to the Lord. More than the hills will resound to the sound of music.
December 30, 2010
Thank you for the gift of music & your love and dedication to children!

My deepest sympathy to Miss Kane and the Von Trapp Family. I was saddened to hear of Miss Trapp's passing. I was very fortunate to have had Miss Trapp and Miss Kane for my kndergarten teachers at Sacred Heart. My time in kindergarten is one of my most cherished childhood memories. I remember Miss Trapp trying to teach us German. I only wish that I could remember some of it. Miss Kane and Miss Trapp made that time special for me and they were such wonderful and loving teachers. I still have my kindergarten class picture and will always treasure it. I have often wondered how these ladies were doing. I know now that Miss Trapp is in God's loving arms and I wish Miss Kane a long and healthy life. God bless.
Love, Barbara (and my mother, Mary) Murphy

I wish to offer my sincere condolences, I will pray that she is quickly reunited with all who passed before her. I consider myself lucky to have had a glimpse into the journey of such a wonderful family, and am thankful that they chose to allow us to share those memories with us.

She may have worried about the negative light it shed on him, but it is quite the opposite for most people I know. My fondest memory of "Sound..." was realizing how much love and courage it took for her Father to to keep his family together.

God bless her surviving family and friends, may God help you remember the smiles and good times as you mourn the loss of such a wonderful person.
December 30, 2010
Whether completely true or fiction, The Sound of Music was "inspired" by a great family. Thank you for allowing us, the public, to look inside what your family experienced during that time in Austria. The Sound of Music was the first musical I ever performed in and has remained my favorite. My children and I watched it again this week on TV and I recalled my first experience as an understudy for "your" part. Thank you for sharing the gifts and talents God blessed you with. My deepest sympathy goes out to your remaining loved ones.
December 30, 2010
My deepest sympathy to a wonderful and beautiful family. The Sound of Music is my all time favorite movie, and I loved Liesel in that film. Agathe had a long and fruitful life. May she rest in peace with all her family who have gone before her.
December 30, 2010
My condolences to all the family, but especially to Miss Maria (3rd daughter who is now 96). I met her in southern California about 20 years ago and found her to be an absolutely delightful lady. She also said that the movie took liberties with their story, especially about how strict their father was, which she said was not true. I appreciate this family which has shared of themselves with the world.
December 30, 2010

I remember going to Radio CIty Music Hall when the film first came out. I was 14 and on a class trip. I fell in love with the movie and the music. Rest in Peace. You and your family gave us the love of music and the appreciation of it and well as the history of your family. God Bless. Emily McAlister
December 30, 2010
This was one of the most courageous families I ever read about, or was prilivedged to see a movie about. The strict Father image was not the issue for me as a 14 year old, it was the way the von Trapp family worked together to keep each other safe and stay as happy as possible during the most trying of times. I would have traded place with either of them as I saw all of them as heros to each other. God Bless each of you as you face another trying time and know that God had great plans for the lady which I think with her strength and enduring love she must have fully reached this goal set by the heavenly Father.
December 30, 2010
What a legacy you own and represent. With beauty and grace and exquisite memories of family and loyalty, you celebrate life and have so much to be very proud of. I recently saw young family members from your family carrying on the Von Trapp Family singers on Oprah. I am blessed to hear your stories and see your famiy continue on in the spirit of its ancestors. My prayers and blessings are with you. Pg

December 30, 2010
Ms Kane, May God Bless you and your family . I had the pleasure of meeting the Von Trapp grandchildren on a trip to Vermont with my Lenore. We had a five course meal at the lodge and children sang during the meal and then they came to each table and sign our napkins for us. My boyfriends mother also love the movie because of the music and my son and daughter recently visit the area where the movie was filmed. So sorry for your lost!
December 30, 2010
Your family's story has been an integral part of my life growing up. My sister and I can sing every word to every song from the play and movie, which we still watch over and over again. I have also read several books regarding "your story." May your faith and memories comfort you as you say good-bye, for now, to your precious Agathe. May the peace that surpasses all understanding, given by our Father above, enfold each of you today, and in the days ahead.

Agathe von Trapp was my friend and I will miss her dearly. I was her personal assistant for the past two years. It was a honor to know her and assist her with her projects. My deepest sympathy for Mary Lou's loss and to all the other family members.
December 29, 2010
I had the privilege of meeting Agathe von Trapp when she was on her book tour in 2003, which included a stop in Nashville. And then about a year later, I also saw her in Vermont at the Trapp Family Lodge, when she was there for her sister Maria's 90th birthday. I had the opportunity to talk with her for a few minutes and tell her how much I'd enjoyed her book and her family's real-life story, which to me has always been even more fascinating and exciting than the movie, which I love! My deepest sympathy to the entire von Trapp family.

May you be comforted knowing she touched many lives and inspired thousands of people. Wonderful story - I watched the movie again last week and was touched by their bravery and sacrifice. My prayers are with the family.

I am one of 8 children who was "forced" every year to watch The Sound of Music with their mother. None of us really objected or complained, though, and to this day we will still sing many of the songs from that wonderful show. We don't sing them well, mind you, but we sing them with much fun! Even though the von Trapps were not originally Americans, they certainly added greatly to our culture and history! God bless all of you!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Ms Kane: Our thoughts amd prayers are with you at this time of your loss of a very dear friend.Ms von Trappe was a very special person and I very much appreciate the mentoring I received from the both of you those years at Sacred Heart KinderGarten and the "KinderFriends" we developed. The world has experienced a void created by her leaving only to be filled by the joy will feel when we remember her. The price you pay for love is grieving. My sympathies for your grief.

My condolences to the Von Trapp family. I happened across the movie on TV earlier this week. Not sure how many times I have seen the movie, but it always leaves me feeling wonderful! My parents took my siblings and I to the movie when it was first released. My Dad bought the album which was played so frequently in our house, we new and still know all the words. What a wonderul story about a close and loving family during an unsettling time. RIP Agathe.

What an incredible inspiration your family became to a-soon-to-be war torn nation. Thank you each and every one for allowing your story to be told in 'The Sound Of Music,' a classic to this day. I do hope your family and most events were acurately portrayed to your father and step mother's favor, as well as you, the siblings of Agatha. Through that movie other nations, America for certain, grew up inspired by your dedication to one another and your father's faith not to bow to Hitler. Such seemingly trite words, though true. So sorry for this loss, and most likely heaven's gain. God's blessing to each of you...

My sister-in-law often talked about seeing the von Trap Family Singers while attending Marywood College in Scranton, PA. She said their voices were like angels singing. My heartfelt prayers are with you at this time and a note of thanks for letting us share in your lives. The book and the movie have won the hearts of millions and will echo down through history as one of the most loved family who fought the odds of Austria and became part of our American life.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Von Trapp Family... it was a wonderful movie. Love throughout the movie. I must say my favorite part is when Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer dance at the party, and realize their love. Ahhh that is the most loving and romantic part of the movie. Thank You all for giving us that...
