To the families of Al Lewis:

I remember watching his television series Car 54, but not his scary movies.

However, it was a blessing for someone to age, and to continue on as he did, doing what he loved doing best.

His movies are his legacy, and his families he left behind, to be so proud and yet, to continue to enjoy watching.

Thanks for the memories.

February 10, 2006
Dear Mrs. Lewis,
I am sorry for the loss of your dear husband Al or as we know him to be Grandpa. He certainly lived for a very long time, ten decades and a half. Don't worry though, as you already know, we will welcome Al back to a life of peace soon right here on earth. Won't that be a joyous time then? A time when we all can live with perfect minds and bodies, perfect environment and everything we desire will be ours. Keep this hope alive in your heart and even though you weep, you can still smile.
"And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry not pain be anymore, the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4
February 10, 2006
Dear Grandpa, I wish I went to see you 19 years ago at my college (ESU,Poconos,PA) when you were doing college tour gigs. Instead, that night I ended up partying with my friends too early and we never made it to the show. I kick myself every time I think about missing one of the best comedians of our time. You were one talented individual and made millions laugh when they were depressed during the hard times in our country's history. Sorry about missing your show, but I hope to see you doing gigs in Heaven some day! God bless you and your family. Peace and Love Grandpa!

We really enjoyed all the shows Grandapa left in our memories. Death is hard to accept at any age, and the longer our love ones are with us the harder it is to let go. But as you read your Bible remember Psalms:90:10 The days of our years are threescores years and ten: and if by reason of strength they be fourscores years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. And Revelation 21: 1-4 gives us hope of seeing our Dear Al again, please read it when you get a chance and share its hope with others. Much love to the Family Always
February 07, 2006

RIP Al, I have always enjoyed watching you on the small screen. You were a character and made alot of people smile
February 06, 2006
Mr. Lewis was a very spiritually-minded man. He often told people that many saints and philosophers agreed with his way of looking at Life. You cannot stop what is happening with your life. Life goes on with or with out you. It is how you deal with it that make you what and who you are. He loved to share that view many times over. He loved to take a depressing situation and show it in a different , more likeable light.

Sister Death, no one can stop her. She came to Mr. Lewis in his own due time.
Hopefully, he will be enjoying his life as the "Spirited One".

Memory Eternal!

To the family of Mr.Al Lewis, I will forever thank Allah and his Messenger, the Most Hon.Elijah Muhammad for such a man as Mr.Lewis. I met Mr.Lewis in New York city at a rally for Min.Louis Farrakhan back in the late 1980s, and he had nothing but high words of praise for Min.Farrakhan and his teacher, Messenger Elijah Muhammad. He further stated that he had always given support to Messenger Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam & Min. Farrakhan and he always would. He was always referred to in the Muslim circle as an "Honorary Black Muslim". We, who follow the Hon.Elijah Muhammad and Min.Farrakhan, will always be grateful for the life ,love and legacy of Brother Al Lewis. The Holy Quran says: " That in the presence of Allah (G-D) the soul shall find rest." He, Bro. Lewis has fulfilled Sura 101. May Allah bless and keep his soul forever. G-d bless his family. Min. Ricky Muhammad, Nation of Islam in the West
