I am sorry for your loss. I hope you can find comfort in the words written at (Jeremiah 29:11,12)
I'm so sorry for your loss. I will keep your family in my thoughts.
The world is full of men, but what of men noble and true?
Can you say that you have known such a man?
These men are far too few.
But let me tell you a a story,
About a team of men
Who left behind a legacy
That will not be forgotten.
They passed every test,
Chosen to fight wild fires,
They were called the best.
One scorching June day in 2013,
When a wildfire raged
The Hotshots were called upon
To battle the fiery blaze.
Armed with tools and heavy gear,
They set out in their prime,
No job too hard for these men,
No hill too tall to climb.
Command was set, plans were made
To tackle the fire's wrath
But winds shifted unexpectedly
And they were trapped in the fire's path.
19 men were caught that day,
The fire drew quickly near
Though they knew they were truly trapped,
Not a one showed fear.
Dig your shelters, men came the command,
Each one knew what this meant
They dug with haste and with one final look
They took to their tents.
Then let us look away,
For we cannot bear
What came to each one next,
Each man endured in those fiery moments,
His final Hotshot test.
And when the aid finally found the men,
The blackened landscape bore
The testimony of death everywhere,
And the men who were no more.
Oh children, your father was so brave,
A man who did his best
In work excelled, he fought to save,
withstanding every test.
Dear widow, may you never shed
another tear at some unhappy strife
For you've suffered enough dread
The day your husband lost his life.
Young sweetheart, your hopes and dreams
Lay in ashes, from the fire's wrath
May you find hope and dream once more
Though sorrow has changed your path.
Sad mother, your beautiful son,
your joy and your pride
Whom you succored with patient love,
has bravely lived and bravely died.
Two prayers I pray for you, the first,
Though all hope now seem dim
May you have a hope in God,
And place your trust in Him.
Second, May something good,
Something beautiful and strong
Emerge from this tragic loss
From something that went so wrong.
Then like a Phoenix from the ashes
May these men and their noble deeds
Live, for love is stronger than death,
In the lives of those who who stop here to read.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. Be comforted too with the promise from God at Psalms 37:9-11, 29 - 11But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. that will one day soon, become a reality.
We are so sorry for your family's tragic loss and grateful for Andrew's self sacrificing service. As you reflect on your wonderful memories we hope you can find comfort and strength in Gods promise to heal our pain and be rid of death forever, reuniting us with our loved ones
"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore, the former things have passed away."
Much love to your family
There aren't many Ashcraft's in this world so we must all be related somehow. As a fellow fire-fighter especially. My family sends their prayers for your family, that they may know peace. Dan R. Ashcraft
I am deeply sorry to read of the loss of your loved one. Psalm 51:17 reads: "A heart broken and crushed, O God, you will not despise." Rely on the God of comfort, and He will give you the strength to endure.
As a former Volunteer Firefighter from Desert Hills, AZ, I am touched buy this. I also lived in Prescott for a while. I know the area well. From canoeing on the lakes off of Sandretto, to hiking to the top of Thumb Butte.

You have shown so much courage during such a horrific time. You amaze me! Even though I haven't met Andrew, I am sure he would be so incredibly proud of you. Before this, I had never heard of a Hotshot. Now you are a household name. So happy you have the Be Good Bracelet intact. What a miracle! Like you said, Andrew didn't have to be good because he already was good -- and the same goes for you, Juliann. i will keep praying for you!

Remember to pray for our firefighters and their families everywhere:
PRAYER FOR FIREFIGHTERS
Bless the firefighters—one and ALL;
Go before them on each call.
Protect them as they serve our kind,
Saving lives with theirs on line.
By Your mercy and Your grace,
Keep their families truly safe.
Oh, may they never suffer harm
At the sound of the alarm.
Grant them wisdom, knowledge too—
All, dear Lord, which comes from You.
Daily be their shield and guide;
Never—ever—leave their side.
Strengthen now the hands that serve
With the blessings they deserve.

Saw you on the Today Show and you were so strong and brave for your husband. He would be so proud of you and will watch over you and your family. God bless and keep you.
I have to confess that seeing your interview on TV brought me to tears. You exemplified everything good in this world and your message came through loud and clear, these men are heroes.
Learning about this tragedy has been a humbling experience for me and it takes me back to 1980 when my wife and I lost our first daughter to Leukaemia when she was 10 months old. I always still think of her as being close by but out of reach, out of my care but in God's care.
What helped me was having two more children who have now given me grandchildren who remind me of my daughter.
You and your children lost so much when your husband died but I remember when I was little my father being away on business for months and every day my mother would send him an airmail letter and everyday we would write down in that letter what we had done that day. In that way I didn't miss him so much.
Your boys will always remind you of Andrew and in them, and your daughter, a part of him will always be with you.
God bless you and your family and all those other families who lost their loved ones, their heroes.
So sorry for your loss. praying for your family. Andrew was my oldest daughter's age. We lived in Prescott when she was a pre-schooler. God Bless you and your children.

God has promised to heal the brokenhearted ones and will bind up their painful spots. May you soon find comfort in these words during the time you need it most.
It is hard to find the words that might help ease the pain, But I remember what General Westmoreland said to the wife of one of his fallen soldiers-(The world is a lesser place with Andrew, But I know that he is with God and the angels and I know that even Heaven is improved by his presence there.) I'm so sorry

Comfort the Bereaved
When earthbound days are done, and loved ones go beyond, Sometimes our Lord's promis for eternal life is hidden in grief and loneliness and strife, but, a sympathetic nod, a note that says, "I care", a gesture or a hand to hold will lift clouds of despair. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Romans 12:15. We are weeping with your family as you try to cope with this tragedy. Love Joyce, Peoria Az

As a feelow wildland firefighter and former hot shot, I wish to send you and your family my deepest heartfelt prayers for healing and remembering. As firefighters, we don't often get the chance to thank each other for what we do. So at this time, I want to thank you for sharing your husband with us and everyone he fought with. It is an exciting and dangerous job we do. We all know the dangers and risks we take. But, we wouldn't have it any other way. It's in our blood and soul to be out there on the front line. God Bless you and your children. You too, shall nver be forgotten. Alice Draper Kelton, Clark Co., Mt Springs Fire department, Station 79 Nevada
