"I Sincerely Apologize for Stealing The Robustellis Pumpkin On Holloween 1970 and smashing it in the street because his children were too good at playing football and ice hockey at Coopers Pond.Best Regards and Deepest Sympathies! Lee Szymborski
When your father played for the New york Giants - and 1956 was my first year as a kid of following NFL Football - your dad was amongst my immediate favourites . he was a real team player .
Lost my dad at the age of 12 in 1963. I can vaguely remember him telling me that Robustelli was in the seminary with him at St. Basil's Prep in Stamford.
While in Stamford 15 or so years ago, I tried to reach him to confirm the story and, after a few minutes of explanation to his call taker, he picked up and explained that it was his brother who attended St. Basil's.
He didn't need to take my call but did.
What a kind and engaging gentleman!!!

My heartfelt sympathy to the Robustelli family. I worked in the group department on Spring Street in the early 80s. RWT was my first full-time job right out of college. He will live forever in the memories of those who knew him and in the hearts of those who loved him. May the family have comfort knowing he is watching over all of you.
My prayers go out to Mr. Robustelli's entire family. I had the priviledge of meeting you as your father hired me, a kid from the Florida Keys, as a travel agent at Robustelli Travel. I LOVED my job and desk there and the pleasure of seeing Mr. Robustelli as a hands on boss at work everyday. My he rest in peace with his beloved as he will forever live in ours/ mine heart. Beth Carrier
My name is Jose Nadal, I'm retired from the Army (30 Years); Mr. Robustelli was my pen pal; He'd send me autographs (I'm a collector, along with my sons), books, etc. I remember him from his playing/coaching days. God bless him!

My Deepest sympathy for the Robustelli Family
To the entire Robustelli family: ANDY (as we all refer to him) was THE finest human beings I ever met, and revered. He told me of his daily NY commutes with former Mayor, later National Basketball Commissioner Walter Kennedy. When I became Mayor of Stamford (during the race riots -- yes Stamford had them, but now the story be told, I had ANDY take over to stop the West Hill High School and ALL students go back to school the NEXT school day, settle many antagonistic problems as I knew of the ENTIRE communities respect for ANDY. Much earlier, while I was Executive Director of the Italian Center I was asled by Danny Thomas' representative to serve as Chairman for St. Jude's Hospital, ANDY was gratiou to serve as a co-chairman -- and STAMFORD did very well to help build the FIRST section of ST> JUDE -- which accepts all children with cancer FREE of Charge. His GIANT numer 81 will also remain engrained in my heart. ANDY loved STAMFORD and we loved him. Condolences to each of AR's family and may he rest in Peace. Bruno, Mayor of Stamford 1967 - 1969.
To all of the Robustelli family- I am so terribly saddened to hear of AR's passing. Knowing him and working for him was an honor, and the memories I have from my many years at RWT will always have a special place in my heart. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers - now and always. I hope that with time and the love and support of each other, the tears will fade and the many wonderful memories will take their place. With love, Gaelen
Our condolences to the Robustelli Family. I watched Andy play ball for many years and will never forget him. My wife worked for Andy and Tommy in Stamford at the agency.
God bless him and Lord, take care of Andy.
As I sit here a week later, I still can't find the words to express how I feel. Working for Andy Robustelli was an honor, and an experience so many of us will always cherish. He was a man of integrity and always tried to get the best out of all of us. It was a place of business, yet we were all like family. Like many an Italian father...he would yell at us one minute, then pass out candy or ice cream (or sneakers or t-shirts!) the next!
Our love and sympathy go out to all the family, many of whom I will always consider friends.
Andy and 'Nana' are together again. Those who have been left behind will miss him, but he is happy and at peace once again. There is consolation in knowing that.
With love and deepest sympathy.
Carol (Marino) and Tom Jenkins
Tom & Family,

I did not personally know Andy, but as a poor needy child I used to visit his ROBUSTELLI TRAVEL at Danbury Plaza 226 White Street, where his children who managed ROBUSTELLI TRAVEL always was there for me. Once they even bought me clothes that I desperly needed at their own Christmas party. I will never forget my autographed copy of a colorful GIANTS book filled with fascinated pictures of Andy playing football. People like the Robustelli family has always been the inspiration of my successes in life. Thank you so much.

I knew Andy when I was a kid working summers and Sundays with the Giants. Outside of Wellington Mara, Andy was the man I respected most out of that wonderful group of people. It was the way he carried himself.
He was a tough/tender dad for his sons Rick and Bobby, who were the younger Robustellis I knew. Andy wasn't above giving me an earful, either, when my teenage behavior didn't meet his standard.
Andy and I shared a Stamford connection as well as the Giants. My mother, Mae Graf Lavelle, used to joke with Andy that he and she were the only two graduates of Arnold College (Bridgeport) connected with the NFL.
As a player, Andy was the exemplar of the modern NFL defensive lineman. Not very big, but mobile and, above all, smart.
We're all going to miss #81, now anchoring the defensive line in a whole other league. It was a privilege to know you, Andy. Vaya con Dios.
To all the members of Andy’s family, please accept my sincere sympathy. Andy’s nephew George Dooley was my friend and classmate in college. George never bragged about his famous uncle. To George, he was just “Uncle Bud”. At our graduation, I had the pleasure to meet Andy’s mother who came to South Bend for the commencement. God bless and keep you all.
Our sincere condolences to the entire Robustelli family. Be comforted in knowing that he is now in the presence of the lord as well as united with his beloved wife.
Gary & Carol Spremullo
To The Entire Robustelli Family,

To The Robustelli family,
Words cannot express how sad we are over the passing of Andy. He was a true gentleman, loved and admired by anyone who knew him. He is with his beloved wife now, and Heaven has gained two angels. May they Rest in Peace together.
My dad, Jack Lavelle was the scout for the Giants when Andy was playing. My dad passed when I was 8 years old and to this day I remember how kind Andy was every time I saw him. He always had a gentle smile and a kind word for me. My mother and Andy often shared stories about Arnold College as they were both alumni.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you mourn the loss of a wonderful man. May your memories comfort you.
One of my dearest friends and teammate.
You were the best Andy!
Alway's in our thoughts and prayers.

Your Dad will always be remembered by me for his warm, friendly nature, his competitive spirit, and most of all for his willingness to accept people as they are. I played baseball against your Dad and needless to say, I feared him when he came up to bat against me. He was a load.

Andra and family, So sorry about your fathers passing. More than being a great football player, I hear so many stories from people I know about what a nice person he was. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Robustelli family; A beautiful family that I've had the pleasure to spend time with. Andy Robustelli raised a wonderful family and his friend and family will miss him greatly.
My sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one. May the God of comfort bring comfort to you in your sorrow. His words are written in the scriptures at 2 Cor. 1:3, 4.
My prayers are with all the Robustellis who I have had the privilege to have known in my life: classmates, softball players, football players, photographers, coaches, teachers, veterans, children and grandchildren. You have lost both your parents (grandparents) in the last few months and so has Stamford. Families like the Robustellis are what have made America a great nation.
I attended school with one of Andy’s sons in the 60s and 70s. I didn't know him as a football player or businessman, just Mr. Robustelli, Tom's father. My father also had eight children, and we are mostly the same ages as the Robustellis. My siblings were in the same grades, played on the same sports teams, attend the same church, and volunteered for the same causes. If Andy wasn't a football player, he still would have been a great American.
Andy, like my father lived an inspired life, was a great role model, contributed to the community and church, loved and cared for his wife and family. To Andy's credit as a father and husband Andy's family is just like him. I could see it in how the family cared for their parents as they grew old.
If you happened to meet Andy and Mrs. Robustelli around town, at Troy Field, George's Barber Shop just a few weeks ago, or at Marios Pizza, he would say hi and ask how your parents were, your brothers, sisters and even your children. They would easily make room at their table for you.
I particularly enjoyed hearing Andy speak at the Stamford Old Timers dinners over the years. The last time I heard Andy, he was extremely thankful for all the friendships in his life. Andy realized his time was limited and challenged all of us to appreciate our loved ones and strive to make a positive impact while we can.
Andy inspired us.
The Lasko Family
What a wonderful and loyal friend he was to my father. Thomas F.J. Quigley. His friendship and companionship to "The Mayor" were a true treasure and a mark of this fine man. Tom Quigley Jr.
As a Giant fan of long standing, Andy Robustelli was an integral part of the the great Giant defenses of the late fifties and early sixties. It always seemed Andy would make a big play late in the game with the opposition team driving to take the lead by a field goal or touchdown. One thing about Mr. Robustelli, he played the run just as well as the pass. I'm sorry to hear of his passing and my condolences to his family and friends. RIP Andy and thanks for all the great memories.
Football has lost another legend. My condolences to his family.
In 1959, my father gave me a poster to hang in my room. It was Andy Robustelli. I was just learning about football and needless to say, he became my favorite Giant. His inspiration undoubtedly touched many of us growing up in that era. My heartfelt condolences to his family. He was a great man.
So sorry to hear about Andy's death. He was a good friend and boss to me and a great person in general. I know the family will miss him greatly.
My deepest sympathy and prayers for the repose of Andy & Jeanne, and for comfort for their family. Msgr. Stephen DiGiovanni (Basilica of Saint John, Stamford, CT)
DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE ROBUSTELLI FAMILY. ANDY HIRED ME BACK IN 1983 IN HIS TRAVEL AGENCY, STILL ONE OF MY MOST EXCITING JOBS. MAY GOD SHOWER HIS RICHEST BLESSING ON THIS FAMILY.

Andy Robustelli was my football role model growing up in the 50's and 60's. TV was black and white and Andy dished out black and Blue. He was a tough as they come. Rest in Peace Andy and do your coaching from God's Press Box.
Please accept my condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your fond memories bring you comfort. May God bring you peace.

Luke and Family- so sorry for your loss- know your Grandfather was an epic force and I know you all will miss him so.
My name is Andrew Robustelli, I am a 68 year old retired Anesthiologist and live in Manalapan, N.J. with my family. I have a wife Linda, two sons, Christopher and Drew and they have threedaughs, Taylor, Andie and Isabella. My father was Joseph A. Robustelli. His father was Andrew Robustelli, an Italian immigrant who was in the women's coat business. I also have two brothers, Joseph and Dominick. I remember Andy very well as I attended a testimonial dinner for him in Stamford, Conn. years ago and visited him and the rest of the team at pre-season training in Bear Mountain State Park a number of times. I was in high school at that time and attended Peekskill Military Academy in Peekskill, N.Y. I have followed Andy's career over the years and was always proud to have The Robustelli name. I know that there is some connection between The Connecticut Robustelli's and the Manalapan Robustelli's formally from Brooklyn, N.Y. I was saddened by Andy's death and wanted to take this opportunity to express our condolences to "The Family". I will always remember Andy and his warm heart and will say prayers that "The Family" will get through this difficult time. God Bless you all and be strong for Andy's sake, as he would want you to be. He was a wonderful man! .... Andrew (Andy) Robustelli.
I am so sorry to learn of his passing. Back in Iowa we couldn't wait for Sundays to see the Giants play on black and white TV. A truly great team led by a great Defensive End.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. I am sorry for your loss.
May the God of all comfort, comfort the family, friends, and fans of Andy Robustelli. We can all look forward to the time when he will run and play, like a young child again.
Andy was a fixture at the Stamford Oldtimers' Dinners. When he couldn't make the most recent one in December, I knew something wasn't right. At those dinners, he always made time for everyone; whether it was shaking your hand or the occasional autograph. You'd never know he was a Hall of Famer and an all-time football great.
He was the ultimate family man, who never forgot his Stamford roots and who happened to be a Hall of Famer. Humble and private as can be, I remember he and his wife Jeanne coming to countless Little League games back in the 80's and 90's to watch their grandson's play. Heartfelt condolences to Rick, Bobby, Tina and rest of the Robustelli clan. We have clearly lost a Giant of a man.

To The Robustelli Family and His Fans,
I loved watching him as a Giant. He was a role model for many kids during his stint with the Giants and even after.
He made me proud of my Italian heritage as I am sure he was.

Pro football became the national sport and the king of television because of the tough, glamorous New York Giant teams of the 1950s and early 1960s.
Mr. Robustelli was integral to those squads, and his name evoked football greatness.
You read the comments of teammates like Frank Gifford and later Giants like George Martin, and that says it all. Andy Robustelli - great player, great person.
We cannot imagine what you are experiencing these days. Please know that we are thinking of you, and our prayers are with you. Isa 41:10
Rest in peace one of the greatest football player great family man will be missed by all i remember all the good times with son Bobby Robustelli playing on my twi-lite team Tony Socci
I first met Andy when he came to Bowling Green State U. back in the mid 1970's scouting the college talent. You knew by looking into his eyes and shaking his hand that he was a man of his word, and let the chips fall where they may. He could spot the players who had the talent and desire to make it into the NFL. God bless his entire family.
I worked for Robustelli travel from 1990 till about 1994. It was a great place to work and i enjoyed my years there. Mr Robustelli was always so kind and one could go and see him at any time. A GIANT is gone and may he rest in peace. My Prayers and condolences to his family. God's peace be with you.
I remember my Dad taking me to see the Giants summer practices at Fairfield U. Andy was my Dad's favorite Giant and at 9 years old he was mine to. A true Giant among men.
Santi Polis, Montgomery Alabama.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
He was a true leader on and off the field and a genuine caring individual. I was very lucky to have been associated with him as a teammate on the 1959 Giants.
Sincerest condolences to all his loved ones.
He was a great "Giant" and man. Our condolences to the Robustelli family. My mother just passed a way on May 27th at 86 and was a huge Giants fan and loved Andy.
As a life long fan of "Big Blue" I am totally depressed upon hearing the unfortunate news of the passing of a truly great Giant, Andy Robustelli. I started following the exploits of my "Jints' due to players like Andy, Huff, Mo,et al. He carried himself with great pride and dignity as well as being the talented DE of his era. I was fortunate enough to have witnessed his great play making capabilities and to see how he inspired his teammates. RIP,Andy. You deserve ALL the accolades from your teammates and peers. #81..was the best!
Andy was the heart and soul of those great Giant teams of the '50s and '60s. Along with Huff, Mo,and the rest of that rock solid defense,Andy was the glue that held them together. it was because of guys like him that made me the lifelong fan of THE NY GIANTS. A true gentleman as well,he will be sorely missed but never, ever forgotten by the "Jint faithful". RIP,Andy..my alltime HOFer.
To the the family of Andy Robustelli - May God give you peace and comfort through his word and the Lord Jesus Christ during this time of sorrow, I know that he will be missed by many.
My sympathies to the family on this double loss. Andy was one of the best football players I ever saw, and a class individual.
He was a great man and a great Italian-American - we needed him and he never lets us down.
My deepest sympathy for the family
At that time, there were no other defensive players like him. He certainly laid me out a few times!
Our heartfelt condolences to Andy's family. We were so sorry to hear of his passing. May our Heavenly Father, the God of comfort and tender mercies be with you all. With deepest sympathy,
