Ruth, Dianne, and the rest of this precious family,
I will never forget the welcome from this whole family when we all lived in Nolensville, TN. Ruth cut my hair in her front yard when I couldn't afford a haircut. She gave me love, as well as other things I needed at the time. The world is a better place because of this entire family.

Our prayers are with the Grammer family during this time of sorrow. And at the same time we celebrate with them the passage of Billy into his heavenly home.

Carl Grammer was a school mate of mine and Sharon Grammer was a school mate of my wife in the late 50s and early 60s.

Carolyn Grammer Williams played the piano and sang at my father's funeral {John Parrish}. We were so blessed by her ministry.

May the Lord give you peace and comfort.
August 12, 2011
My condolences to the family at this difficult time. As a youngster learning to play the guitar, Billy provided many lessons through his records and performances. His "Gospel Guitar" album is still one of my favorites. Having had the chance to communicate with him later on, I can say he was a true gentleman; not only one of the finest guitarists I ever heard, but a truly fine man. May God be with the family during this time.
August 12, 2011

My Dad and Billy were great friends. I remember meeting Billy for the first time, I called him "Mr. Grammer", he kindly said, "I'm Billy, if you call me 'mister', I'll think you are talking to my dad, I'm just Billy"--how humble can you get! Billy's faith in Christ was unstoppable, one of the greatest men I ever met. May God bless his loving family! You will be missed Billy!

In 1969, the love of my life, a confirmed bachelor, decided to marry me.

His friends unmercifully teased him and would play "Bonaparte's Retreat" on the juke box just for him.

My dear husband departed this life and I'm so glad to know that Billy will be singing "Bonaparte's Retreat" to him in heaven.

To his family, please know that Billy was well loved by his fans. I pray you will find peace in Jesus' arms.

God speed Billy.

We're losing a lot of country music history here in these last few months. When I was a little girl I would hear his "Gotta Travel On" on the readio and would sing along and then sing it so much that my parents got tired of hearing the song. As I got older, it became a treasured memory that my dad would speak of very often. Once in a great while i will hear Billy sing it and I would go back in time to when I was a little girl. He will be greatly missed. But, i will always chersih the memory.
August 11, 2011
Rest in Peace Billy.

As an 8th grader in 1958, I loved to hear Billy sing the words: "I've played around and sang around this old town too long". I am so pleased I got to meat Billy in Sedalia, Mo. in the 1970s when he did a concert at First Baptist Church. I shall never forget his saying that a radio audience has to recognize you in the first l0 or 15 seconds, or you wouldn't make it. What a joy it is to listen to Billy"s song by way of the computer!
August 11, 2011

I'm sorry Aunt Ruth. I miss seeing and hearing my Dad and Uncle Bill playing guitars at the reunions. It takes a lot of prayer to get through. Dad's been gone for 2 1/2 years already and I Know that he looked up to Uncle Bill. I'm praying for you because i know it's difficult, but we have a big family to lean on. God is watching over them now. Love You.

Sure enjoyed his music and will for years to come.
May the following words bring you peace and help you to hold on. May God bless and hold you in his warmth and help your family through this time.

Cry not for me though I am gone
I've taken that last flight home.
Grieve if you need, but not for to long
Just celebrate the life I lived
I am at peace, my soul is resting
So there is no need for your tears
But cry if you need, but not for to long
For with your love I was blessed, through all these many years.
There is no pain or suffering
The fear is now all gone
So put these things from your thoughts
Because in your memory and your thoughts I will always live on.
Please do not dwell upon my death
Just celebrate my life.
Yes I had a wonderful life.
Always remember that I had a wonderful and full life. Now it is time for me to move along.
