For the families and children of our fallen this Christmas 2013

Colours glowing near a window pain
Shimmer gentle, seen, the sight
Lifting hearts in yuletide's glow
On Christmas Eve, tonight
Let them hear the carols
Sung on high
Sung in hearts so light
Sung with all the love that grew
Sung with all their might
As they gather close
Around their Christmas tree
Recall a life time, shared
Broke into tears, for a life once shared
With a nation
With all of us
Oh Lord our child of Canada
Lost a soldier, Oh So Dear
To a world that needed
A strong, strong heart
To stand, to say, no more
In a world gone so terribly wrong
On behalf of me and you
They stood, they gave, all that they could
Left those they loved behind
We now cherish, the very thought
A thought that's so profound
Hearts have risen high above
As angle's wings do fly
Carrying forth their love so dear
We hold them near to us
Their wives, their children
Their moms, their dads
Their families, loved ones, friends
And those who walked at their sides
On behalf of all of us
As sunshine gathers, sparkles thought
In the snow that's on a tree
May the beauty of the gift they gave
Shine on for you and me
May the warmth of love surround their hearts
Quell the hurt, the pain the loss
May it bring your soldier, mom, or dad
Close to you tonight
May they wrap their loving arms so tight
Hold you close and oh so near
And let you know you're never alone
At this precious time of year
In life, in birth, a special child
Was born on Christmas morn
To bring to you that special chance
To be near to them once more

May the Joy of Christmas warm your hearts and lift your spirits high
Shine the glow that Christmas brings
Close to you tonight

We Will Remember Them. Written for Remembrance Day 2013

For those who've stood at the gates of hell
As battle rages forth
And stood to hold their line, their fate
To lift a new world rising forth
A world in which freedom's hand
Was openly held toward
To those to escape the bonds that bind
To hold them ever more
From the clutches, the beating down
Their spirit and their hearts
Those who held that outstretched hand
To those who needed help
So thankful all a world should be
For they stood for another voice
One that held our hearts, our minds
Standing very close
Freedom is not just a venture forth
It is a way of life
That lends us all, the gift to stand
Go forth for what is right
And allow all those to climb aboard
Who see it in their sight
Oh Lord you gave us choices
Good or evil found in hearts
The two, so very different hold
Our worlds so far apart
Tonight I looked into the coals
Of embers burning bright
And saw the life of those who share
Our nation's glowing light
At first their dreams are smoke and mirrors
Of a life that used to be
And then each soldier rises up
Gives meaning to where they've been
Learning pride, remembrance
From those who've stood before
Those who tossed the torch that holds
Their futures, evermore
So many didn't return back home
They lay where poppies grow
So many others caught their torch
And across our earth they've roamed
Within this new world
They have worked so hard
To help to come about
A world where sons, where daughters, rise
And share a brand new world's spark
Lord love them for they took a stand
And said no more, no more
A message needed
In our world today
As terror knocks on every door
We could never wander very far
From these hearts so warm that said
Our world needs us brave enough
To stand in terror's way
So as you sit around a campfire's light
Look in and see how bright
The glow that warmed those hearts to stand
As they stood for all of us
We can never forget that step they took
We remember those who gave
All they could towards a better world
A better world today

We Thank Them
We Will Remember Them
Strong of heart
Strong in spirit
Glowing heroes to recall each day

Blake,
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I keep your picture in my wallet, and when people ask about it I'm so proud to tell them your story. I always looked up to you when we were growing up, you were so funny, and you had such cool style and gauges and tattoos (haha). But now looking back I always thought it was so amazing you found your perfect career in the military, you were so dedicated and loved your job. I've had a few stumbles, but now I'm finally in hairdressing school pursuing my dream career. And today at a random vintage shop in Toronto, the first military jacket on the rack had this name; I hope this a sign you're proud of me for making it, and that you're watching over me. I love you Blake, always will. Rest in peace.

My poem, written for this Easter 2013, in respect of those who have given their very all to bring about a better world on our behalf and in recognition of their families, friends, loved ones and fellow soldiers who miss them so deeply at each Easter Sunday meal. May They R.I.P. We Will Remember Them.

Empty chairs each Easter Sunday
In homes across our land
Tears flowing gently
For each son or daughter
Mom or dad
Who gave a heart to Canada
Stood proud for me and you
Stepped forth to make a difference
In a world, in need, they knew
I've seen comets
I've seen meteors
But what I saw the other night
Was a glowing ball
Streak across the sky
In slow motion, in its flight
It glowed so bright, like mini moon
Its colour just the same
And then in the spirit with which it came
Turned to darkness once again
Overjoyed in what, I had seen
It was not a shooting star
It was a light that lifted high
In the brief moment of its spark
Oh lord, so many soldiers
So young and full of life
Have moved my heart
In this gentle way
As they've stood so far apart
Parted from their families
Parted from their friends
Stood so tall for who we are
Given all that could be given
Now held so close, within the hearts
Of those who miss them so
As bright, as seen, this palm Sunday's eve
Not unlike a story foretold
Of a son who gave his very all
So others would follow
Follow in a dream, a way
That a world would see a light
Of goodness spread across a world
At freedoms dawning sight
Oh Lord be near our soldier
Who also gave a life
For all to see a better world
On behalf of all of us
Lord, I dare not compare your son of life
To our warriors brave and true
I only give this humble voice
Of their efforts, the good, they do
Standing tall
Standing brave
Standing with all you shared
Within their hearts as young they were
To mold them
Brave for you

For the Families of Our Fallen This Christmas 2012

Angel's feathers falling
To remind us they're up there
Wind chimes sounding gently
To let us know the lord is near
Today is but a lull, in winter's nasty chill
One can see the storm clouds building
Circling, all around us now
We hold so close the warmth that was
To let it not escape
Yet no matter how hard we try
The warmth, it finds the gate
The chill it reaches down inside
Attaches to the spine
Sends shivers climbing through us now
Hearts are frozen held in time
For those who've lost a loved one, friend
Tis all they can endure
A hope, a wish, a prayer, t'would bring
Their loved one home again
Oh Lord their Soldier stood for all
Please warm these hearts so chilled
So they may find the warmth once shared
With this one no longer near
As they look out through the window
Let the moon and stars, shine bright
Let all about, it glisten forth
On this, this special night
Another hero gave his all
The one who led the way
For them to find a life beyond
And faith to find a day
A way to climb a staircase
To the heavens high above
To join a son, a daughter, friend
To be together once more as one
Oh lord you sent your son, our gift
To those who lend a heart
To those who've given all and more
For those life has forgot
We stand so near, so near Oh Lord
In praise, in solitude
Await a time, a time to share
A loved one entrusted unto you

Thank you Lord

For Remembrance Day 2012

Flurries of snow across our land
A chilly wind bites at the spine
As we stand for those who stood for all
In far off distant lands
Some recall the void, the pain within
Left in hearts, in minds, in lives
Who were impacted at the loss of those
Their lives never the same again
Friends recall fond memories
Child in tears for a mom or dad
A wife recalls the horror of war
That turned her life, a living hell
A mother or father stands in thought
A loss beyond belief
Of one who was their heart their soul
Since counting tiny toes upon their feet
Fellow soldiers, comrades
Loved ones, friends
In their minds they bring them near
In special thoughts of those they've lost
While fighting over there
We as Canadians
Stand proud, respect
All those who stood for all
Sent from a nation whose open heart
Has provided a world a home
Oh lord my heart so empty
As I stand, two minutes given
Just a moment's time
For the life they gave
On behalf of all of us
I cannot be prouder Canada
I could never turn away
From those who've shared
Their loved one forth
A debt we could not repay
Stand proud, Remember, Oh Canada
For those who stand for us
For their families, friends, and comrades too
For they gave for me and you
We are focused on the flower
Began in fields so far away
An image to be remembered now
On each Remembrance Day

To Blake's family. We think of Blake often--but on Rememberance Day he is imbedded in our thoughts as we watch the ceremony. Each ceremony since his passing has become so much more poignant. RIP Blake

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM .... you will always be in our hearts and memory Blake.

The years go by the time slowly dulls, but we remember. Through the forced reflection that only great loss of the people we care about conspires, we are able to appreciate the lives we are blessed to live. Thank you to the family's whom burden the grief so as that we can all carry on. We are all in this together and i hope time will not dull our appreciation of such time ascending heroism. Stay in our hearts and minds forever. Thank you Blake.
October 15, 2012
Just a note to let Blake's family know that he has not been forgotten. I am very thankful that he chose to serve and protect this great country but am saddened that he lost his life in doing so. Thinking of you.

For the Families of Our Fallen, This Christmas 2011

The wind is howling at my doorstep
This eve of Christmas Eve
The trees are bending low its clear
As Christmas day draws near
As I decked the tree this Christmas
I thought of those so brave
Of those who've lost a loved one
Who stepped forth for me and gave
They gave their all for Canada
A gift beyond compare
They stood a world away in time
Where few would tread or dare
So many loved ones share in tears
In thoughts they've left behind
Hugs once held so warm and close
A smile within a mind
The TREE has become so special now
For it holds a life time past
Its sparkling lights a memory's glow
Of a hero once held so near
As garland wrapped the tree in smiles
Those smiles of yesteryears
Those smiles held upon as face
Forever now held near
Each piece of tinsel a frozen tear
Shed at a time of loss
And now reflecting the reason why
For this hero was dearly loved
A true angel tops this Christmas tree
For is seen when looking high
As a loved one lifts their faces near
And a prayer races from a heart
A wish that they were standing near
A wish for laughter's sound
A warmth a hug once use to bring
Remains a memory oh so close
Oh Canada, our heroes gave
Their loved ones hold our hearts
Lord please reach out and hold them close
Please be so near this season forth

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Thank You Blake for the great sacrifice you made for us you will never be forgotten. Your memory will live on forever. You are a hero, My hero Thank You for everything

Thinking of all those who have given so much; those who have paid the Ultimate Sacrifice, our Veterans, our serving soldiers, their families, loved ones and friends at this special time of Remembrance, 2010. We Do Remember.

They crawled on their bellies slowly
In the dirt, the dust, the slime,
Ran onto beaches, lived in fear, a moment out of time.
A time that changed a world in need
A time that set apart
Times that held a world so close, near and dear to every heart
The gas they sent, it took its toll
Many others held that ground
And challenged over and over again
Until freedom’s world was found
Liberated nations cheered delight
A world was aimed anew
But for so many who had lost a life
The tears fell hard and true
They stepped forth for their Nation
They stepped forth for a world to be
They stepped forth to chase the evil back
Keep their families safe and free
Through life times of years gone by
Up to this present day
A brethren strong with so much might
Stepped forth for you and me
We owe so much to those who’ve walked
In fear yet oh so strong
So brave in every step they took
So many now are gone
They have challenged life itself each day
And stood for what was right
They did it with their heart and soul
And stood with all their might
Lord love the souls of these so brave
And cherish duty’s call
For they gave all for a better world
On behalf of one and all.
At this time of Remembrance
Into our hearts we welcome those
Who have walked this solemn journey forth
For those who needed a friend along
We recall their families, loved ones, friends,
For so many have paid the price
Of freedom, or for a world in peace
Or to fight terror in another place
Oh Lord we hold their honour high
Our tears have washed the path
For those who take their torch to stand
As to them the torch is passed
Forever near we promise
We will honour these hearts so brave
And stand nearby their families, friends
For the sacrifice they gave

As I focus this Easter Sunday
My heart goes out to you
For a Chair is sitting empty
For a Hero Brave and True
Who gave a life for Canada
And a world we should become
A better world for all to share
A better world for everyone

They had raised their eyes in honour
To the Flag that flew above
They had sung its anthem strongly
In their hearts so full of love
It began for them in childhood
And sang out for years to come
At the vision of the Flag above
Onto which their hearts had clung
This special group, a brotherhood
That stepped forth to a country’s call
For them the Flag was calling
Could not turn away this love
For them it was the strongest call
The path that led the way
For they had held it steadfast near
Flying high above each day
And then one sad, so tragic day
The leaf flew from the sky
To wrap and hold them tightly bound
In return for all their love
It warmed their weary bodies
Clung closer to their hearts
And to hearts that shared the pain, their loss
At such a tremendous cost
Wrapped within the hug that flew above
Love’s vision, all their lives
Now carried forth in a country’s love
For their loving sacrifice

To the Families of Our Fallen. Thinking of you this Christmas

The tears that fall to a winter’s sky
A loved one looks off into the night
For Christmas Eve is a lonely time
When a loved one is not held tight
We know they would have been here
For their families, for their friends
If they had not given our world the gift
In their service to all mankind
They stepped forth to change a world so wrong
Lift a country from it’s past
To provide a future for those in need
A future to go forth and last
But someone stole this life so strong
The beauty of a thought
Of stepping forth, to stand protect
And the goodness it could have brought
Please fill this void, warm this broken heart
Who looks out upon this eve
Troubled in a thought, a loss
Of someone now so close to thee
Oh lord please place a gentle thought
A memory of a time
When joy would fill this household warm
And keep it there at Christmas time
Let this family know we care so much
They should not be alone
Please help our thoughts be passed along
To warm those within this home
For Christmas is a time to know
That the coming of this child
Provides for all across our earth
To be reunited with that smile
The one that used to hold a hand
Or hold us in a hug
The one for whom we shed these tears
On this cold and lonely night
Please hold them close on Christmas morn
Celebrate the birthday of this child
Who came to bring salvation forth
To reunite them in awhile

By Roger Borchert

We pray oh Lord you stand near this Christmas to warm, to hold these families tight and mend these hearts so torn. Wishing you all the best this Christmas and throughout the coming year.

In Respect of our Military Families, Our Fallen, and Wounded on Remembrance Day

For what we take for granted
So many have died for
So many lives so vastly changed
At the dreadful cost of war
There is the good; there is the bad
A liberated nation cheers
Left in dread for those young souls lost
Devastated a world back home
Efforts to protect a peace
That no one thought was near
Laying lives upon the line
Visions at times so unclear
Lives touched by fear or lived in dread
Of wounded coming home
Of crosses lined in many rows
From a trip down a heroes road
I have been sitting on the bank
Of a river flowing by
Flowing heavy with the flood of tears
From their family’s eyes
For on this day of remembrance
Their thoughts, their dreams, their prayers
Are focused on a loved one lost
Leaving them in such despair
My heart it wants to reach out
Let them know I can’t forget
The gift they’ve laid for their fellow man
Tis the greatest gift to give
So humbled in a moment’s thought
So treasured was the step
That they took forth at their country’s call
Let it never be forgot
We measure freedom lightly now
For we’ve grown so familiar with
But if not for those who took this step
And gave this precious gift
Would we take it so very lightly
Would we have the chance to vent
About all that annoys and bothers us
Without retribution for what we’ve said
So thankful they stood so proudly for
All that we hold so dear
All that makes us Canada
For me it’s oh so clear
For some others they just don’t get it
They think so little of
What has been placed in front of them
At the cost of someone’s love
If I could send forth a message
Place it in a bottle, float it by
I’d provide a note of how much I care
For those whose tears are flowing by
If I could walk along this shore
Such a warming hug I’d give
To those who’ve lost a loved one
So we can live the way we live

My deepest sympathies go out to the family. Blake was an amazing guy. I can remember how he could make me laugh no matter what the situation. Blake was my date for Grad and I will always remember how he wore white running shoes with his suit. It is those little details that still bring a smile to my face when thinking of him. He will be forever remembered and missed by those who knew him.
June 05, 2009
Blake was an outstanding character. He played a large roal in everything he undertook and always stood out as the individual. He was anexcellent athlete and im sure his dedication set him aside as an outstanding soldier. Anyone that knew him would agree he was a likeable guy, and it is a tragedy to have him leave so young. My deepest respect goes out to his family and i would like to thank them on behalf of my own family who have the privalage to live the peacfull lives we do because of the selfless actions of individuals like Blake. To this day I know Blake is still in the hearts and minds of all those who knew him, and through remembrance he will live forever.
May 24, 2009
As a child, and as a young adult, I never took into much consideration the lives people around me will lead. And I'm sure that's the same for most.
And even as an adult I know I may never know what's become of the lives of the people I've known. Where they're going and where they've gone. What choices they've had to make, and for what greater good.

I never would have pictured Blake's face, or anyone's face I knew, on the front page of the paper telling me how his life was taken fighting in a war. How he had chosen that path for life, despite that it may take that life from him. That he became a soldier who gave for me. For you. And for everyone.

We live in a world that cannot BE without men and women like him. But these men and women as few or as many as there are in this world, give an opportunity for the lives of so many more, and they are Heros. Because they really do save the world. And every one of them counts.

I'm very heavy knowing his life ended too soon, and too far from home. But I am very happy to have known him when he was young and to know he grew up to be a Hero.

Thinking of our Canadian Fallen Soldiers due to our efforts in Afghanistan. For them, their families, friends and fellow soldiers during this Easter Season: this Poem was written with the help of one of their Mothers. For her assistance and inspiration I am so very, very grateful.

We thank you Lord for being near
And for your gifts given unto us
We thank you too for sending forth
Your son’s so gentle touch
He provides our world with caring hearts
Without which we could not love
He gives strength to those who would step forth
In a world hidden but from above
They’ve stepped beneath terrors darkened clouds
Too many whisked away
We pray Oh Lord you gather them
Provide them a new day
Please take them close, near to thee
We entrust them to your care
Let them rest awhile hold them near
And set their spirits free
May they stand proud now
Among their peers
Families, friends, and loved ones too
For in the loving Grace of an angel’s touch
We’re drawn so much closer unto you

Thank you so very much for your efforts and sacrifice towards making our world a better place.

For the loved ones of Canada’s Fallen Heroes

May the New Year bring
A warmth to thee
That helps to heal the heart
That mends the fracture caused within
That’s torn you apart
May it whisper in your ear at night
That love is standing near
That you will never be alone
A warmth to quell your fear
May it welcome you in mornings’ light
And be near throughout the day
Standing near to comfort you
In a needed special way
May you always know
The time will come
Together you will be
Find in the tear a memory brings
The joy it helped you see

May the lord be near throughout the year, come and help in every day, that it takes for you to overcome this tragedy life did play.

For the families, loved ones, and friends of Canada’s fallen soldiers: It was written this evening with thoughts of what you and your families are going through at this season and could not hold it back any longer. It is my Christmas gift to you all.

I thank you for wandering near
As you think of where I lie
You think of what I went through
And a tear wells up inside

Let not that tear
Fall for me I’m sitting watching you
For I’m not there at all no more
I’m here inside of you

I’m sitting near within your thoughts
And in your memories
I’m just the thought a gentle breeze
In a gust of memory

I’m the gentle shiver when you are near
I’m the glimmer in your eye
I’m the sparkle that a teardrop brings
When it wells up in your eye

I’m the smile a fond moment brings
I’m the warmth you held so dear
Remember that, as time goes by
And know I’m standing near

As you look upon the Christmas tree
Shinning at this time of year
Know the Lord sent his only son
So that I could be standing near

May our Lord be near you all.

Our hearts and prayers go out to you all during this so difficult time of year. Please know that it comes complete with the glisten of tears held within the eyes of it’s, author Roger Borchert. Thank you so very much for the efforts of your loved one towards making our world a better place

In Respect and Remembrance of Our Fallen Warriors, their Mothers, Fathers, Wives, Children, Grandparents, Loved Ones, Friends, Fellow Troops, and all those Canadians whose hearts and tears lay at your side; I submit:

There are no words that I can place here in this registry that could ever justify or explain the loss of your loved one, friend, or fellow soldier. Please know that my family and I cannot stand idly by, without taking a moment, to express how much our hearts go out to you. There is no greater gift towards the future of our country, our world, our humanity, than the efforts and sacrifices made by our Canadian forces towards making our world a better place. Whatever the politics of the day, whatever the leadership of the moment, our selfless warriors have stepped forth to deploy to meet the needs of our changing world, with honour and an integrity that is unrivalled. We as Canadians truly bow and honour your efforts and sacrifice.

We have fallen on fields of battle
In lands so far from home
We have marched to war in honour
For those who’ve felt alone
We have defended those who couldn’t
And stood between the lines
Of two opposing armies
In this new world in our time
We have stood for those who cannot
For those who are oppressed
Standing shoulder to shoulder
To help others do their best
We have held our line with honour
Fury held at bay
Rebuilding a broken nation
To allow all to have a say
Our sons and daughters moms and dads
Stepped forth to make it so
A gift given for a better world
Such a precious gift you know
Our youth in pride have stepped forth
Do this job as best they can
Lay their life upon the line
Each true Canadians
They will not be forgotten
We can never turn away
They have taught the price of giving
In such an honoured way
For where would our world be then
If we just stood by and watched
Could we look ourselves in the eye
And say it wasn’t lost

Our tears. Our thanks. Our prayers.

Well buddy, it's approaching that time of year again. It doesn't get any easier but that's ok. You've taught me that it's ok to cry...anywhere, anytime. You made a difference. I miss you, and i will speak of you always.

With a heavy heart stepping forth
Please forgive me when I say
That I let you down in the past
In not a little way

I did not write to let you know
Just how much I cared
For the sacrifice you’ve given
For so many in despair

You stepped forth and joined our forces
Laid your life upon the line
To bring about a safer world
A new world in our time

Fellow soldiers friends and families
And those you held so dear
Still think of you most everyday
For us others it’s not so clear

We must slow down and take the time
Understand how great the cost
For if not placed in front of us
Can we comprehend the loss

Sometimes we’re just so very shy
Or we don’t know what to say
Or do not want to interfere
Or seem superficial in any way

I can no longer withhold my thoughts
I have to pass them on
For it breaks my heart just thinking of
All those left to carry on

Please know that you are in my prayers
Will be there for years to come
Know that you are in my thoughts
For the efforts you have done

Oh yes there is that special day
To remember not to forget
Those who’ve paid the greatest price
We can never repay this debt

Pte. Blake Williamson we knew you not, but our prayers reach out for you, your loved ones, friends, and fellow soldiers. We do, so dearly, thank you and your loved ones for your efforts towards making our world a better place.

To the family of Blake Williamson, I am so sorry about the loss of your son, brother and friend. My husband is MCpl Leblanc, he was in Blake section and was wounded that day. It is so hard to believe these brave men aren't coming home but they will certainly never be forgotten. Although I never really had a chance to know Blake, my husband tells me he was a really good guy and a great soldier. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely

What could be more appropriate in a memory guest book than memories of my Son...for my daughter Reid and youngest son Ryan who is now in basic training the military to follow in his brother's footsteps.

I remember teaching him to fish, shoot, catch frogs, play catch (Paa taught him to hit) I just practised with Blake. Also how to ride bike, skateboard. I remember his early and frequent VIP treatment courtesy of my friends at Nordair with his Mother. While driving as a kid constantly with the joke book going...his love of swimming especially hanging on to the tails of either Ebony or Ruggles our huge dogs. His first two crushes first in Deep River and 2 years later with the twins in Bellevile. The heliocopter ride in Mrytle Beach...the long walks and talks and questions always questions. The very early morning hockey games and practises and being behind his net while he was goalie...and then his stinky sports equipment.. The up and coming baseball star and teaching him the Indian Rock Farewell ceremony for loss of Paa. The pathetic look on his face when his tonsils came out in the gown with the bare backside hanging out. The Fireworks, car races, teaching him to shave with cream and a plastic razor and watching old reruns of Alf the tv series...half his life we were like glue...will miss him and all he could have been but proud of what he did for himself and his Country.

Heather,
It doesn't seem that long ago that we were watching our boys playing baseball. Our boys became young men and assumed the responsibilities of adult life.
You can always be proud of the man that Blake became.
Heather, Reid and Ryan know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
November 12, 2006
As he did in life Blake has now challenged us all to be so much better.

So while you, Blake's family and closest friends, bear the burden of this terrible tragedy the rest of us are left to reflect, share his story and to make sure that his untimely passing was not in vain. The hundreds of responses to this site by so many friends and former peers of his, in and out of school, are a testament to the fact that he can lie in peace knowing that he has made such an impact. Mrs. Anderson, you gave Blake to us as a young boy ...guided him throughout and turned him into a man ...you certainly deserved more time to see the fruits of your labour of love. Reid and Ryan take solace in the fact that the best of your brother resides in you and while this loss can be nothing but overwhelming, know these things will carry you far. My thoughts have been with the three of you now for awhile but no more so than yesterday. You unselfishly shared your son and brother with the rest of the world that he might make it a better place ...and clearly in so many different ways he did that. Please accept my deepest sympathies at the loss of a very special young man.

Heather, Reid and Ryan - Although we have not been in touch in recent years, we are so sorry to hear of Blake's death. November 05, 2006
Reid, Ryan and Heather I cannot possibly express the sadness and shock that I felt when I heard of Blake's death. I spent the summer with a very close family friend (similar to a son) serving with the PPCLI in Afganistan. He came home on August 31st.
I remember talking to H.B. about Blake during the first week of school and I was sure that he too would come home.
I also remember Blake's smile and his presence in class. I think about him every day during the national anthem and I am glad that I had the chance to know him. Remembrance Day has a new meaning for me. Blake is gone, but will not be forgotten.
November 05, 2006
It has taken me alittle time to think about what I wanted to write.. It all feels like a dream.. Although I did not get to spend alot of time with Blake. He touched a part of my heart that will never be forgotten. Blake had such a love for music. I can still hear his voice singing above the songs he introduced me to. I want to send my deepest condolences to his family & friends. My prayers are with you all during this very difficult time. It is very hard when we lose someone so special as Blake. He was an amazing individual that will be missed by all. I am glad for the time I did get to spend with him. And like many others look forward to see his smiling face waiting at the pearly gates. Now November 11th will have a different meaning to all of us.. for we personally have a HERO to remember.

To the Williamson family, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beautiful son Blake. I also lost my son that day, Sgt Darcy Tedford, Bo Peep as his guys called him. To the family of Blake,
I would like to express my most deepest condolences to you all for your loss of Blake. I am the proud brother of Sgt. Darcy Tedford. I too feel your pain and I want to let you all know that my thoughts are with you also. Darcy often talked to me about Blake and his fellow comrades in the Black Sheep group. He told me they were a very close knit group of guys and that he was very proud of them all. He felt like a father to them and was very much protective of them.
Blake and Darcy are truly heroe's and they have given the ultimate sacrifice to try to better our world. For this I thank Blake and all of our fallen soldiers.
I feel for your family at this sad time but let's let there memory live on. Blake is a beautiful angel watching over you all now. Be strong for him and your family and may Blake "Rest in Peace"

Having served with Blake in the same section here in Afghanistan, and having been only meters away from him when he passed, i can tell you he will be truly missed and ever remembered by those of us here, and everyone who ever had the honour of working with him. he was always a source of morale and laughter, even when there seemed to be nothing to laugh to about.
He will be sorely missed by all.

I spent a summer with Blake working at RHC - it wouldn't have been the same without him. I feel lucky that I was able to meet him and share so many laughs and good times. What happened to him is hard to accept but I know that his influence will live on in his friends and family.
October 22, 2006
No thought in my mind makes enough sense to put into words. The only thing that becomes quite clear is that life, makes no sense. Blake was the one person to show me how to let go of all the nonsense, and aquire more self worth. I envied ever part of what made Blake, Blake, and will never let that memory go. I am truly honored to have been your girlfriend for an unforgettable year of my life. They say you never forget your first love and I will never forget what we had, what we were and who you will continue to always be to me and to everyone. A hero in our eyes, a true friend in our hearts, forever. "For nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much." You rest complete in my heart with many joyful memories. Forget you never, love you always... muahz

I am sorry for your loss of Blake he was truly an amazing friend to many people and touched all of us in our own special way. He did our country proud and is respected by all of us.
I had know Blake since the days of Oxford On Rideau and being a neighbour we shared a lot of fun memories together. Blake will always be in my merories and my heart.
October 21, 2006
It has taken me a long time to finally write something here as I find it hard to grasp the words that reflect how I feel at this time. I knew Blake from high school; he was a warm, selfless human being with such an incredible smile and personality. I think everyone remembers Blake’s smile… it could definitely light up a room. Hearing of Blake’s passing left me feeling completely overwhelmed with emotion, it is so hard to understand why such an amazing individual like Blake was taken so soon. I guess there are just some things in life we aren’t meant to understand. I try to remember that it is all part of a bigger plan that God has set forth for us.

I hang a picture of Blake in my house now, to always remember him and honour what he has done for our country. Blake was a very brave and determined man that will always live on in the hearts of not only those who knew him, but of every Canadian, as he touched so many lives. Blake is a true hero that I will never forget. He may not be here in body but he will always live on in spirit through the memories that we all hold of him.

My sincerest condolences to the Williamson Family.

It is with great sympathy that I heard the loss of your eldest son, Heather. On the many occasions we talked about Blake, I quickly understood that his entry into the forces, his service to his country was a source of pride that could never be dimmed. Heather, Reid and Ryan
A great family has lost a great young man. I will always ensure that the history students here at NG know of the fine young man who made the ultimate sacrifice for Canada.
October 20, 2006
Dear Heather, Reid and Ryan,
As many others have already expressed, I just did not want to believe it was "our" Blake when I heard the news. I will always remember Blake's smile, his generosity, and his sincerity. Not only did I have the priviledge to be his teacher and coach, I also had the honour of working with him when he returned to N.G. on his leaves to volunteer with my classes, teams and especially my canoe trips. He was a very charming teenager and had grown into such a fine young man. We had made a pact that he would join me in 2009 for my final canoe trip. He will still join me in my thoughts and prayers. My deepest sympathies go out to you.I will never forget Blake - the student, the athlete, the Hero, my friend.

Friends and Family of Pte. Blake Williamson,

My family sends our condolences & prayers.

My Brother Pte. Jason Royer had the Privilege of Serving in Afghanistan with Blake as well as shared a home with him in Petawawa. It broke our hearts to get that devastating phone call from him telling us of this great loss.

I know he will be greatly missed and thought of often.

Blake will always be remembered as a noble person who lost his life honoring his country, fighting for another country which was not his own and for that you can not help but be proud!

God bless you and comfort you through this sad time.

Cover them over with beautiful flowers,
Deck them with garlands, those brothers of ours,
Lying so silent by night and by day
Sleeping the years of their manhood away.
Give them the meed they have won in the past;
Give them the honors their future forecast;
Give them the chaplets they won in the strife;
Give them the laurels they lost with their life.

Heather ..I was so shocked when I heard the news, I didn't want to believe it was true. It has been years since I last saw you, so long ago when Blake was a small baby. I pulled out a picture of him at my son's birthday party and there was the same smile. Be proud of him, he died with courage and honour and our Country is proud of him. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Your son Blake served his country with pride and is now on special duty at the right hand of the Lord. Because he was such a good soldier, he was taken so young in life to watch over each and every family member until you meet again.

My thoughts are with you and your family at this time. I hope you take comfort in the fact that your son is a true hero who sacrificed himself to ensure that we as Canadians, get to enjoy the greatest country on the planet. My heart aches for you... God bless you and your family.

Blake,

You are an amazing person that I had the honour of knowing and have very fond memories of. Your smile and laughter always had a way of lighting up the room. You had a very strong character; always saying what was on your mind and always standing up for what you believed in. Your wity humour was attributed to your intelligence, you never ceased to amaze me. I will always have a place for you in my heart. My thoughts and love go to out your family in this time of sadness.

To the Williamson family. My deepest sympathies goes out to you and all those who have loved Blake. He showed amazing courage and everyone who knew him can say they are proud. Its been years since I've seen Blake but he was an great person and I am glad that I had the chance to know him. Rest in peace.
October 19, 2006
I first met Blake when I was in grade 9. He was my student teacher for english class. He always had a smile and joked around and he was always there for help when I needed it. I got to know him more and more as I started hanging out with Kaleb and Brian and played in the band. I can remember everytime he would say "good job" after shows and follow his compliment with a witty little insult. Always followed with his witty insults. For some reason it never bothered me. It's what friends do. I knew he wasn't being hurtful. He never was hurtful to anyone. He was older, bigger and cooler than me so there was nothing I could do about it anyways.

When I heard the news report of Blake's death on the radio, I didn't understand. I kept saying to myself that it's a different Blake Williamson. It couldn't be Blake Williamson from Kemptville. The Blake Williamson I knew. The Blake Williamson everyone from Kemptville knew. I became breathless when I read the whole story. My eyes teared up, my body froze and I couldn't move. All I could think about was how cheery Blake was and how admired he was by everyone.

I wish (as I'm sure everyone is) that I could go back one day to make one change so he would be able to return home. Just for one more burn.

I'll never forget you Blake. I am going to miss you.
October 19, 2006
Blake,

We have been going though a lot of digital pictures because Paige has moved west. When I got home and was watching the news the other morning I couldn't believe what I saw. When you and Mike where here two years ago and we talked, you guys where just heading out for your first tour. I remenber Mike telling me I was JUST like his Mom, her name is Pam also, and I was always trying to get youy guys to eat something...anything. Well as expected, your sister (Reid) contacted us, and as always was eager for one of Don's (Dad's) breakfasts, he did her proud as you could expect.

Bye the way...We gave the printed copies of you an Mike to Reid, she loved them...happier times.

It's nothing compared to what you and your fellow comrades do for us on a daily basis, I want you all to know how honored I am to be a Canadian, I know you are all as well. Keep Blake's spirit alive, I understand from Reid and a lot of other locals how he made them laugh,

Please take care, Mike a special note, know that "the other Mom" is watching over you too. Watch each others'back guys. If you are in "the area", please let us know, we'd love to have you over for the weekend. To have something as close to home as you can get sometimes is better than onthing at all. (I'm sure your Mom and Dad would agree)

Heather, Reid, Ryan,

I can't even begin to express the loss you must be feeling, just know that we are here, give us a phone call away. Please keep in touch. As they say strenght in numbers, as our troups.....we stand UNTIED.

God rest Blake...we'll miss you, but we will NEVER forget.

Love,

Pam, Duck, Paige and Lauren MILLER

Dearest Heather,
I cannot imagine the pain you and your family are living from the lost of Blake. No words could ever express how deeply sorry I am to have learned of such absolute tragedy in your lives.

Heather, you have raised Blake to be wonderful young adult with such great values and honour. You have taught him to follow what he believed in and commit his life to it. He learned from you that everyone makes a different and Blake did to all of us. You have been a mother to him, a friend, a role model and more importantly always supported him in every decision and that gave him the will and the courage. Blake knew that, Blake felt that love from you. He will forever remain your angel.

Dear Heather, Reid & Ryan

"A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others." Blake rose above the ordinary to show distinction of a valiant, compassionate man. He lived his role of being a champion with high regard to advance humanity in a foreign civilization. His gallant sacrifice, of giving his human life, so others might prosper is a testament and attribute to his aspiration of being altruistic. His spirit will always remain close in our hearts as a shinig star from heaven for us to admire from afar.
October 19, 2006
I did not know you - I wish I had -I would have told you that you have wings. I could never repay you except to welcome you back into the arms of your country who loves you and is so proud.

Sleep well sweet prince.

Dear Heather, Reid & Ryan

We did not have the priviledge of meeting Blake but did get to know and love Reid through our son Ryan. Ryan often spoke of Reid's brother Blake and what great guy he was.

Heather whenever we met up with you and Reid in Kemptville (usually shopping) you always had a big smile & hello for us. From what we have heard Blake had the same warmth & smile.

I'm sorry we never had the opportunity to meet Blake. Please know that our thoughts & prayers are with you all at this time.

To the Williamsons
My deepest condolences. Images of Blake flashed in my mind when I heard the news- I remember him in the hallways of NG surround by a crowd of friends, at parties with a beer in hand making people laugh with his dry humor… I remember running into Reid and hearing her proudly update me on Blake’s latest whereabouts. Blake touched many people lives and he will always hold a place in their hearts. I admire his bravery, and his selflessness. Blake was a wonderful person and his sacrifice will be remembered always.
October 18, 2006
I met Blake through my brother, and because of his kind heart, warm spirit and absolutely hilarious jokes, he quickly became someone I called MY friend. It hurts us all who knew him to think that he is gone, but at the same time we are proud that we had the chance to call him our friend.

Blake, we love you and will never forget you. Our hearts are with your family at this tragic time.
October 18, 2006
Blake "Willy" i miss you little buddy. What can i say, we laughed so much on the last tour in Afghanistan. I wish i could have been there with you pal. I was really looking forward to hanging out in February. I will never forget you, and i'm a better person because i knew you. I'm a mess, it doesn't seem real. It doesn't seem fair. Well, the next time we meet have a cold beer waiting for me and we'll watch "Anchor Man" again.

October 18, 2006
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read that I would never again get to talk to the once new boy from Ottawa who sat in front of me in grade 5. It has been unreal over the last few days of how many things remind me of times we shared; on the bus, in class, on the baseball field, volleyball and basketball court, in drivers-ed, and on the canoe trip, where the two of us went as leaders. We had a good chance to catch up on what was going on in our lives and he was very excited about his future, and very proud of his family. Ryan, Reid, and Heather you have my deepest sympathies. Blake, rest well, and thank you for honoring a country I am so proud of, you did what I could never do. See you in the future, where we can once again catch up.
October 18, 2006
I am at a loss for words, but I will do my best to put into words how I feel. For a few years Blake lived on my street. Reid and my brother Ben, used to play together, and Blake would walk down to our house to get his sister when it was time for her to go home.

Eventhough we were kids, I remember Blake being kind, and caring.

To Blake's family, he will be sadly missed, and fondly remembered. Blake had a level of bravery that most of us could only imagine reaching. May you always carry him in your hearts, as we will in ours.
October 18, 2006
Heather and family: I know how very proud you were of your brave son. May he rest in peace, his sacrifice will not be forgotten.
October 18, 2006
I’m sure you have heard all sorts of sympathy wishes from all that loved Blake. I’m not sure what I could say that would be different, but I will write the one thing I think of when I hear his name. Although I never knew him well, I remember how Kemptville thought of him, he was a hero the day he joined the military. When he would come home on leave, everyone talked about Blake, ‘did you know he’s back in town’, everyone talked about the local boy who was off fighting for our country. Know everyone has something else to talk about, a legend. Blake you did well, now my you rest in peace.

My love and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
October 18, 2006
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.
October 18, 2006
Blake, I cannot thank you enough for your ultimate sacrifice. I only wish that I had taken the opportunity to get to know such an honourable and courageous man better while we were in school. To his family and friends, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. And to Blake’s fellow soldiers, I offer you my gratitude, respect and support.

God Bless
October 18, 2006
My prayers go out to the Williamson Family and to Blake. I went to NDGHS with him and as I remember him he was quite the character, whom was very nice and obviously very brave. Here at CFB Halifax Stadacona we held a moment of silence for Pte.Williamson and his comrade...God Bless you Blake!

To the Williamson Family

I had the pleasure of meeting Blake a few years back through a number of his best friends in Kemptville. I couldn't get over his personality and how he managed to stand out in a room full of people. The people that he touched through out his life here in the Ottawa region and the countless numbers he has touched overseas through his duties, they are better for it.

You will be missed, but you will not be forgotten.
October 18, 2006
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
October 18, 2006
My sincerest condolences to the Williamson family for this tremendous loss.
October 18, 2006
To the family of Blake Williamson I truly am sorry for you loss and I give my deepest condolences, may you find peace in your current sorrow.

I met Blake at NGDS in kemptville as I believe many people did. I wish I had taken the opportunity to have gotten to know him better as he was a stand up guy. He was always friendly and outgoing. He always stood up for what he believed in. I am truly grateful and proud to have known him. You are a hero to all Blake, and thank you for that!
October 18, 2006
For rememberance day in our school this year, we have a lot to remember. A lot that has happened in the past weeks that needs to be known. Each student in our class was assigned a person, to find their picture and frame it, and recite their eulogy during an assembly. My person is Blake. Although I may not have known him, I feel a connection as if I did. It might not be right for me to sign this guest book, but I send out my condolences to his family and friends, and want you to know that Blake Williamson will be remembered; by those who knew him, but also by those who did not.
October 18, 2006
Words alone cannot express my sadness and sympathy for the loss of Blake, and my heart goes out to Ryan and his family in this difficult time.
It’s hard to understand how a tragedy like this happens to such a good person, but we'll remember and rejoice in all of the good times shared with you... and try to believe that everything happens for a reason.
We’re proud of you, Blake. You will be missed by so many. Bye for now…
October 18, 2006
My life has been changed in such a positive way since being friends with you.
I am so grateful for the memories we have created together and with all of our friends.
Can't wait to see you again...in a better place..and if it's cool with Ducky and Kaleb I might get in on those beers too :)
Love you always..
Heather, Reid and Ryan..may you find Peace at this time and always.

A few years ago on Christmas Day, Blake entered our home with a warm friendly smile and handed me a bottle of red wine, expressing holiday greetings to our family. We enjoyed that wonderful wine on New Years Eve that year. I searched fervently to find another, but could not. Blake was a kind, brave, and caring individual, and like that vintage, we will never find another like him, however his memory will remain. May God Bless you in your time of loss, and give you peace.
October 18, 2006
My sincere condolences go out to the family of Pte. Blake Williamson. I hope that soon you will be able to move on and smile and think back on the days of happiness you all shared. Tears will eventually fade away and all that will be left are happy memories.

How truly blessed we all are for having an opportunity to have known such a wonderful person as Blake! He is remembered not only as a great friend who could put that smile on your face, but as a real hero. He made the ultimate sacrifice and stood up for what he believed in. Blake without a doubt, will me missed and remembered. Let us take the time to mourn the absence of his flame, but also to celebrate how brightly he glowed!
October 18, 2006
So much love goes out to Heather, Ryan and Reid. Blake was a hilarious guy, one who tried his best to teach me the essence of 'the one liner', which i still don't grasp.
He was an awesome guy, one who will be truly missed. So much love goes out to him and all that knew him. Words cannot express his loss . .
WE should all be proud.
Love.

I was watching the news yesterday when all of a sudden a picture of Blake appeared on the screen. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, nor did I want to believe what the news anchor was saying. I am so deeply saddened by this tragic loss. I've known Blake since elementary school and played Volleyball with him in high school. His smile always made ME smile and I will never forget him. He has made us all proud for being so brave and courageous...I miss you Blake...you truly are a hero and will never be forgotten. To Blake's family, my deepest condolences go out to you. May you find comfort in knowing Blake has found peace.
October 17, 2006
My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends. So many people knew you, respected you, and will always remember you.So thank you for all you have done.
October 17, 2006
Heather and Family - I didn't know Blake personally but through my daughter Kate, I realize he was one of the many great "kids" from small town Kemptville. As we lay to rest a fellow hero here in London, our trees are trimmed with yellow ribbons in memory and now, as I travel my daily journey I will remember your son and brother who has shown the enormous impact one life can have on the world.
My heartfelt sympathy to you all,
October 17, 2006
I wish to express my deepest sympathies to the Williamson family.
I came to know Blake first through my brother, and later through my own friends and by being on the volleyball team. He was one of the few friends I've known who was always able to relieve any tensions with an innate and genuinely positive energy. He will remain always in my memory as a great friend with an infectious sense of humour; I, everyone I know, Kemptville and indeed Canada have suffered a great and a terrible loss.
October 17, 2006
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Blake you truly are my Hero.

Please know that our thoughts are with all his family and friends during this difficult time.

I would like to send our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Pte. Blake Williamson. Our son had the opportunity to serve with Blake in Afghanistan, Pte. Jason Royer. Blake and Jason were also roommates in Petawawa. Our family is also greiving the loss of Blake. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time.
October 17, 2006
Blake, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. You will always be remembered as an honourable and courageous man. You are a real hero to me and countless other people. Knowing that others like you are still out there fighting to make this world a better place, restores my faith in the possibility that one day there will be no more fighting. Blake, I wish that I had taken the opportunity to get to know you better while we were in school.

To all our brave soldiers, ... you have my respect and support.

God Bless you all.

The Williamsons are in all 10 of our hearts. Heather, Blake, Ryan and Reid -- we love you so much!
October 17, 2006
I am not cognisant of a word that can express the sense of tragedy with such a loss. May he find the peace that he died trying to bring to others.
October 17, 2006
Blake was my best friend, bro, and cousin. We were together literally everyday for a real long time, and always will be. "Frick and Frack" or "mutt and jeff" as my mom always called us, we made a good team, and will again someday. I'll never meet a more stand up dude, and never forget ALL of our memories we have together. Ryan, Reid and Heather, we're family and i'm with you through all of this, offering everything i can. I'm glad i can say i grew up with a real hero, and watched him become the amazing person he was, first hand. Words cant describe my emptiness, but memories will prevail. Theres just so many...
You know how they say "those were the days...", well "those" days were with Blake, and i'm as thankful as i am honoured.
October 17, 2006
Your tragic passing brings the conflict in Afghanistan so much closer to us all, and your service and sacrifice are a sobering inspiration.
October 17, 2006
Blake I have to admit your name didn't cross my mind in years but it really hit close to home when I found out you had been killed in Afganistan. You were a genuinly nice guy and you turned into a great man. my prayers are with you and your family.
October 17, 2006
Heather, Reid, Ryan

I am terribly sorry for your loss
I know that words could never capture the essence of the emotions you feel right now
Grief is simply too small a concept to describe what has been brought upon your family and our community, this great absence we now feel in our lives

The same can be said for the concept of innocence, his life was taken far too early; it is amazing to comprehend the end of a life taken at such a young age

I like to believe that we all have a purpose in life, and though it is hard to believe that Blake’s was already fulfilled we have to look onward; and it is in the wake of this that we have to remember him for who he was, and ask ourselves why are we still here?

At the very least we can be somewhat, if only mildly comforted by the fact that Blake died honourably, serving his country, he left us in a tradition as old as time itself, to the tune passed down to us through the generations before.

He died trying to make the world a better place for all of us to live, and in our own ways is that not really why we are here?

I’ll miss you my friend, whenever we met you always had a smile on your face, as sure I am you will when next we meet. You will be greatly missed by all.
October 17, 2006
Blake, you have made a sacrifice that we all thank you for. I know we all remember you well, and will miss you.
October 17, 2006
From Mrs. Creighton and her grade 7 and 8 classes at St. Mark H.S. our prayers go out to you and yours.
October 17, 2006
I'd like to express my deepest condolences to all who knew Blake. He was a wonderful person and he touched so many of our lives. Blake will be missed not just by a few but by a community.
On November 11, as we all bow our heads in pray of those who have made the supreme sacrifice, Blake will be first and foremost in all of our minds. Thank you Blake for your sacrifice, you will be remembered as a hero by all of us.
October 17, 2006
My heart goes out to the Williamson family, they have lost a hero. Be it through baseball or life itself, he was always a man to admire. He has done more in such a short life than many will ever do. A small town will be forever proud. R.I.P. Blake.
October 17, 2006
Heather, Reid & Ryan,

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Blake was an amazing person. He was always there to support his family and friends, always knew the right thing to say in any situation, could cheer you up on your worst day and always knew how to make a room laugh. He was a brave and honourable person. Blake was a great friend for many years and although we were not as close in more recent years, he will always hold a special place in my heart. There are so many wonderful memories and many, many laughs! He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you & your family in this most difficult time.
October 17, 2006
Although I did not know Blake personally the impressions I have received from his mother, sister, friends, and his smile were all of someone who enjoyed living his life. I do remember he did an amazing job at making people smile and laugh at school and, I am sure outside of school. From my understanding, he lived his life with purpose and personality. Heather- you should be proud you raised such a noble son, and that he received many of the amazing attributes I have seen in you. Reid and Ryan- I cannot understand your grief, and I do not know you very well but to call a wonderful, vibrant, caring, hero your brother is something to be proud of.

Thank you Blake for leaving a positive impression on so many lives, my family’s thoughts are with you and your family.

MY SINCEREST SYMPATHIES
October 17, 2006

Heather, Reid and Ryan...
I couldn't believe my eyes when I read in the paper that Blake is gone. I'll never forget the good times I had with him during our childhood and the impact Blake and the rest of your family had on my life. From playing baseball in the summers to just hanging out with him at school, Blake was always there to share a laugh. He was more than just a friend though, he is a hero and his life will be remembered as such.He will be missed by all and I wish you all the best during this trying time.
October 17, 2006

He will be remembered for his bravery and outstanding courage. Our thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time. Blake will be missed by all.
October 17, 2006
I’d like to extend my deepest sympathy to all of Blake’s family and friends. In school Blake always smiled and always managed to keep the faces around him lit up as well. He never judged and treated everyone equally with dignity and respect. It's sad to lose a young man with such great attributes. Let his passing remind all of us how lucky we are to be here and to cherish ourselves and the ones who surround us. Blake will be sadly missed by many but remember he left a hero and let his name live on.
October 17, 2006
The Williamson Family,
I can only imagine the number of people Blake has touched throughout his life. On the other hand I can say with cetainty that the people he did come into contact with can not deny the never ending laughter and utter hilarity that he had to offer at any given moment. I am so glad to have had the chance to get to know him. He will never be forgotten.
Much Love
October 16, 2006
Heather, Reid and Ryan,
My heart stopped when i heard the news of Blake's death. How could someone so young with so much more living to do, die. Blake was a wonderful human being who always put a smile on your face. I remember when my brother and him played baseball together...Blake was the skinny kid with the big smile. Years later in highschool he still had that trade mark smile, but he had grown an extra foot and became a great 'middle' on the volleyball court. I have so many great memories of Blake playing volleyball, and just in general. He was a very special individual. Blake will never be forgotten. He had great passion for what he was doing, and will always be remembered as a hero. Heather - you did an amazing job raising your son. He was a role modle to all. Reid and Ryan - Hang in there, and remember your brother for what he was: a great brother, a great friend and a hero.
Forever in my heart and prayers. Thank you Blake for being you!
R.I.P.

October 15, 2006
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Blake, although I didnt know you, my fiance Pte. Davis had the honour of serving with you in Afghanistan. You have made the ultimate sacrifice, and that will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Rest in peace.

I am devestated to see one of our finest losing his life in such a way.His courage and sacrifice will never be in vain and I pray that the generations to come will see the fruit borne from such noble Canadians who esteemed the safety and freedom of others more than that of themselves.
God bless you and your family.
