April 17, 2008
Our thoughts and prayers were with you yesterday as you observed the first anniversary of Brian's home going. May God continue to watch over you and bring you peace and comfort during these difficult days.
"Isaiah 40:31: Those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as Eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." I know Brian is soaring like the Eagles and may you run and not be weary and may you walk and not faint, ever holding on to someone good and perfect. Our prayers are with you.

To the family of Brian,

My thoughts and prayers are with you especially during this VT commencement time. I did not know Brian, but from all I have read and heard about him, it is so obvious that he has received a far greater reward than any human being could ever give him. What great pride you should feel in reading the comments his peers and professors have said about him. I know God will provide all the strength, patience, understanding and acceptance you need, as I know you miss him so very much. All of you remain in my thoughts and prayers.
May 10, 2007
You are not alone in your mourning. The nation mourns with you. We are devastated for your loss. Please realize you are not alone.

May 04, 2007
To Brian's parents, sister and brother-in-law, and grandparents:

As the days pass, do not think that we have forgotten about you in your sadness. Our prayers continue for you. In Louisville, we feel that we, too, have lost one of our own. Everyone who knew Brian loved him. Do not doubt that you will see him again, reunited in Christ Jesus, who will dry every tear and take away all mourning. May the Holy Spirit comfort you, and grant you the peace that passes all understanding.
May 04, 2007
I had the pleasure of knowing Brian, through mutual friends. He was always smiling, in fact I cannot picture him without a smile. He definately made the most of his time here.

My prayers have been with since I found out, and they will continue to be with you. May you find comfort knowing that Brian will always be with you, watching over you.
May 04, 2007
Dear Bluhm Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. From everything I have seen and read about Brian he was a godly young man. May God's grace sustain you. My mother has been wanting to get a message of condolence to you as well. Her sisters Verna and Donnie were Bluhms by marriage. Her name is Bona.
May 01, 2007
Dear Bluhm family,
My family and I continue to hold you in our thoughts and prayers. I can assure you that all university communities will never forget that awful day. I only pray that you and the other families can find peace and strength.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am the sparkle in the snow.
I am the shredded leaves that blow.
I am the sunlight on growing grain.
I am the gentle summer rain.
I am the quiet bird at night.
Circling about; Taking flight.
So do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
April 30, 2007
RISE UP SLOWLY, ANGEL

Rise up, slowly, Angel.
I cannot let you go.
Just drift softly midst the faces,
In sorrow now bent low.

Ease the searing anger,
Born in harsh unyielding truth
That Death could steal my loved one
From the glowing blush of youth.

Rise up slowly, Angel.
Do not leave me here alone,
Where the warmth of mortal essence
Lies replaced by cold, hard stone.

Speak to me in breezes
Whispered through the drying leaves,
And caress my brow with raindrops
Filtered by the sheltering trees.

Rise up slowly, Angel,
For I cannot hear the song
Which calls you through the shadows
Into the light beyond.

Wrap me in your downy cape
Of sunshine, warm with love,
And kiss a tear-stained mother's face
With moonlight from above.

Then wait for me at sunset,
Beside the lily pond,
And guide me safely homeward
To your world,which lies beyond.

Just spread your wings and take me
In reunion’s sweet embrace,
And we shall soar, together,
To a different time and place.

For the parents, bless you.

So many of us are still in shock in Blacksburg and I personally can't really grasp the fact that he is no longer here. I know he is walking in paradise with our Almighty God right now. I was a part of the BSU while at VT and was in a bible study "Brown Family" with Brian. I saw Brian's beautiful smile about a week before April 16 and it brings joy and peace to me when I can't seem to grasp what has happened at VT. I am praying for all of you and I love you. Go Tigers & Hokies:)!!
April 30, 2007
To Brian's family and friends,
Our heavenly father promises at Isaiah 41:10-"Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness". May you grasp hold of his hand and allow him to guide you through the coming days, months and years.
May you gain comfort from these additional scriptures:
Isaiah 25:8-"He will actually swallow up death forever."
Revelation 21:4-"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
My husband was lost on 9/11 and these scriptural promises comfort me greatly.
April 30, 2007
My family is so sorry for yor lost. But there is hope. Jesus said at John 5:28,29: "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." The Bible also says at Acts 24:15:"There is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous. So even unrighteous ones who don't know and serve Jehovah will get a future opportunity to gain God's favor.

Know that Almighty God does care about you & take comfort from His word during this difficult time.
April 28, 2007

May I offer my condolences for your tragic loss of your son. Please know that God is near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves. To the Bluhm family,
I am sorry for your loss, please draw close to God in prayer and the bible promises that he will sustain you.(psalm 55:22)
April 27, 2007
To family and friends of Brian Bluhm:

Love will find a way. May you find healing in your own way and time.
April 27, 2007
I read about his "great personality" and comments made from those who knew him. Such a terrible loss and my deepest condolences. Grieving parents need to know that Jehovah will sustain them through intense sadness, just as he did David, (of the Bible). They can approach the great "Hearer of Prayer", trusting that he will give them help. (Psalm 65:2) But not only parents, any who mourn the death of a loved one. If you pray to Jehovah in faith, he WILL sustain you. Take care
April 27, 2007
Always a smile on your face, always. I will miss your genuine kindness towards others, especially the kindness you've show me. Thanks for the times we shared at the BSU and bible study. Take care and I'll see you one day in a better place. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers, I know they were always in yours.
April 27, 2007
Father we entrust our brother Brian to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Brian in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathy.
April 27, 2007
There are no words and I can never truly understand. My heart is with you. I have cried and I have smiled. Your son was a wonderful person and you must be strong. My prayers are with you.
April 27, 2007

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you all
April 26, 2007
Dear Bluhm Family,
I too, like so many who have signed here, did not know Brian. I feel, however, that somehow I do. I live in Salem,VA ~ just about 30 minutes from Tech. My heart is heavy for you and your loss. Last weekend my husband and I took our young children to Tech to visit the memorials. We prayed for you there and still have you in our hearts. May God bless you and give you peace that will comfort you.
April 26, 2007
You are in my heart and prayers.
April 26, 2007
I wish to express my deepest and most profound condolences to the family of Brian R. Bluhm. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing him, but I am deeply saddened by his brutal murder. He was a good Christian man, and he will not be forgotten.

April 26, 2007
Rest In Peace Brian, our greatest sympathy to the entire family
April 26, 2007
My heart and prayers are with all of you..
April 26, 2007
I never knew Brian, but have read so much about him and the other ones who went "home" on April 16th. His persona affected me especially, because he sounds like such an incredible person, and with an openness about his faith in God. I just wanted to leave my condolences for the family and friends of a person who touched each person he came in contact with, whether they ever met him or not. That is evident everywhere where his name is mentioned. God's scripture has been so comforting during this time, especially. Having been in that building and watched the change of classes on Drill Field long ago I felt connected, somehow. God's Blessings on You!
April 26, 2007
REST IN PEACE SWEET BEAUTIFUL PRECIOUS ANGEL
April 26, 2007
What a senseless act. I pray that your family can go on and that the love of the human spirit will lift you up.
April 26, 2007
May these scriptures give you peace and hope:

Psalms 55:22--Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 105:4--Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

Isaiah 54:13 - All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children's peace.

Luke 20:37--They are like angels, they are God’s children.

Philippians 4:13--I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.

Psalm 121:78--The LORD will keep you from all harm---He will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
April 26, 2007
Dear Bluhm Family,
My heart breaks for you and your beautiful boy. I wish, as everyone does, that I could rewind that day and make it as it was before that terrible day... Of course, I can't. I can tell you that he is with you now, sitting beside you when you bow your head to think of the pain of his loss will bring to all of those fortunate enough to have known him. I did not know him in life, I grew to know him by stories on his life, how he lived. I have no doubts in my mind that Heaven welcomed him in, that he found peace from the Lord, and if any regrets, it is that he had to leave YOU. You were his heart. You raised him to be the good and decent man he was becoming. Your love. When all other things are lost, Love remains. The love you have for him, and the love he has for you.
Faith tells me that everything happens for a reason, but when I look upon these faces, your son's beautiful smile, my heart breaks. I know we will never be able to know why this happened, not really. But Faith tells me that your son was such a bright and beautiful soul, he simply could not walk among us long. He was too good.
I wish I could return him to you so that you all could attend one of his beloved games, that you could cheer beside him, touch his warm face, look into his deep eyes. I know he is beside you during this time, that he is your angel now. He touches your tearstained cheeks, strokes your hair with invisable fingers, that he remains alive within you.
Bless your heart, dear Family, I hope that faith will hold you tight, love you as he did, and remind you that he is in God's gentle hands now, never to hurt again.
We cry with you on your loss. We grieve with you. In him, we see our own family. We see our sons, our husbands, our brothers, our cousins. Tears fall for him all over the world. People pray for you and him all over the whole. That he touched so many, that is a sign of a great man. Thank you for helping him become the kind of person anyone would love to know, love to marry, love to be. To be the kind of man I hope my boys will one day be like. Thank you for that...
May God bless and keep you all close in His heart. I know your Brian will forever be in your's... and mine... the world's. Bless you all.
~A Proud Active Duty Army Wife~
April 25, 2007
Love and prayers for healing to all of you. Unspeakable grief that I cannot fathom is part of you - however, you are in my prayers that God will give you daily strength to survive each day.
April 25, 2007
My heart was heavy when I heard of this terrible tragedy. We may never understand why God permitted this to happen but rejoice with you that Brian was a Christian and has gone home to be with his Lord. It is my prayer that you feel the warmth of God's presence surrounding you during this difficult time...strengthening and encouraging you daily. In Christian love and concern....
April 25, 2007
May "The Lord bless you and keep you" Numbers 6: 24
Rest in Peace dear Brian.
April 25, 2007
To the Family/Friends Of Brian:
I hurt for what has happened to Brian. When you get a chance to breathe, I hope you can gain courage from this: what the Bible "really" teaches about all those that have passed is that they are likened to being "asleep." John 11:11-13
May the resurection hope sustain you, for the Bible calls Jesus "the resurection and the life." By means of his Father, Jesus will call out to those in the memorial tombs (Brian) and resurrect them to a cleansed, paradise earth that is to come. John 5:28-30; 2Pe 3:13
When Jesus walked the earth and resurrected many who passed, he was giving us a preview of what he is going to do for mankind in the future.....Take Care
April 25, 2007

God Bless.

My son, Alex,is a junior at Virginia Tech majoring in civil engineering. He has spoken often of the encouragement Brian gave him especially when he was beginning his engineering studies. I regret I did not have the privilege of meeting Brian. He will be missed but not forgotten. Though he was only with us for a short time there will be many future VT engineering students who will benefit from the legacy he has blessed us with.
April 25, 2007
We are so sorry for your loss. We in Michigan and fellow Detroit Tiger Fans send our sympathy.

April 25, 2007
When we lost our daughter, also a college student, in a tragic car crash six years ago we never would have thought anyone would understand the pain we have been feeling. But to Brian's family, know that there are thousands who know what you are feeling and we know that while the pain will never ever go away, it will gradually ease and you will one day be able to smile again when you think of the times you cherished with Brian. This is a time when you are feeling tremendous support from people all over the world. Soon you will be alone with your grief and you will need to support each other as never before. Seek counseling; seek out others like you as I am with this message. You will find comfort and strength, and Brian will remain forever. I wish you all the best in this difficult journey.
April 25, 2007
I wish to express my heartfelt sympathies to your family for the tragic loss of your son. The sadness of losing someone so young is difficult to bear and I pray for you to have strength with each passing day and take solace knowing that your son was a fine young man and was a true success.

My heart and prayers go out to you on the loss of Brian. I'm a father of a recent college graduate and have protected my son from the womb. I can't imagine your pain. Your son was a success in life, not a victim, that's a press term. JFK was a good president, not a victim , Lincoln was a great president, not a victim. Your son was a hero. God bless you all.

It is so shocking what happened on that sorrowful day
In my prayers you will forever stay
Although we never met and I did not know you
This is a poem for you to say my adieu
It is a shame you can not be with us today
Due to everything that happened I am still in dismay
Now you are up in a better place
We will never forget your honor and grace
Please look over us, protect us from dangers
You are missed by your family and countless strangers
I wanted to let you know you are in the thoughts of many
Condolences and commiserations are aplenty
I bless your family hope they stay strong
In my thoughts they will always belong
I say to you and the other decease
I wish that you all rest in peace

I didnt know any of the people that passed, but this whole thing has gotten to me, alot. I am 15 years old and I'm a freshman at Crawford County High School in Roberta, GA. This tragedy has most definatley opened up the eyes of many people, even in other states far from Virginia. Even my school in this little town we know as Roberta are buckling down and making sure that our schools are safer. It has opened up my eyes to all the possiblities at schools, here in Georgia, Virginia, and all over the world also. My condolences go out to all the friends and family of the victims. I can't possibly begin to imagine what they must be going through. Stay strong, VT will pull through!
April 24, 2007
No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. Our deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.
April 24, 2007
I lost my father last month, and I send my love and prayers to your family in your grief. I heard someone say something recently that touched me during our time of sorrow - "may his memory be a blessing." Brian clearly blessed many, many people during his life and continues to do so. God bless, Marie
April 24, 2007
May God give you peace and comfort during this difficult time, and always. I'm very sorry for your loss.
April 24, 2007
I first had Brian as a TA, and he slowly became more like a friend. Having him as a TA again this semester, his smile and laugh were by far the most memorable qualities. I can never forget what Brian gave to me and taught me, and how just his presence in the room made me feel more at ease. His friendly hellos and conversations, and that chuckling laugh that echos in my ears. I can't even begin to describe how much he will be missed, and how much I will miss him.

You will forever be remembered, Brian. A hokie, a friend.
April 24, 2007

My father went to VT many years ago..we actually stopped by the campus on our way to Virginia Beach a few summers back...so that Dad could "walk around and be nostalgic" for a bit. I send my heartfelt thoughts and prayers so that you may have the strength you will need these upcoming days, months, years. I hope you can find comfort knowing Brian is waiting to be reunited with you one day in Heaven, and until then he will be your guardian angel. A nation weeps with you for this senseless tragedy.

Dear Bluhm family,
Please accept my deepest condolences and prayers for you and everyone who had such an honor to know Brian. I did not get to know him, but after reading about him, do wish I could have known such a wonderful man. Please know that he is watching over you in this time of pain and sorrow. Here is a poem I hope you can find some comfort in:
It's never easy for those left behind, but when you lose someone so senselessly and unexpectedly, we all feel the shock, May it help to know how many people share your sorrow and stand with you in your time of need. Tenderly, may time heal your sorrow, gently may friends ease your pain, softly may peace replace your heartache, and may warmest memories remain.
April 24, 2007

To Brian's Family/Friends,

I am the company recruiter for the engineering firm that Brian was coming to work for after graduation. I never met Brian personally but I had assisted in the hiring process with our Baltimore office and they were truly looking forward to having him join them in July. Brian and I had exchanged e-mails over the last few months and it was obvious to all of us who had been in contact with him that he was an extremely intelligent, hard working and well rounded young man. We are all just heartbroken that such a tragic event has occurred and I personally wanted to express my deepest condolences to his family and his friends. I truly believe that Brian would have been a shining star at our company and it is so truly devastating that he didn't get the chance to start his career in the field that he so obviously loved. My heart goes out to all of you.
April 23, 2007
Bluhm Family,

My sister is a VT civil engineering major as well. I believe she and Brian were classmates. I know he will be missed by many. I cannot tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I only know that I have had such strong emotions of pain, saddness and anger at what happened. I cannot even begin to imagine what you have gone through during the last week. It was so inspiring to hear of your son's relationship with Christ. I hope that strength lingers with you. I pray there is some way that you can find comfort. May God bless you and give you strength and comfort.

My School

In the twinkling of an eye,
In the softly swirling sand,
Your precious and beloved,
Gently took their Master's hand.
Do not weep for them oh loved one,
Nor grieve forever more.
They now rest in constant love,
On a far and distant shore.
On a far and distant shore.
Can't you hear the sounds of trumpets?
Shofar's call ,Temple Bells now zing!
Listen to your precious,
As Alleluia's now they sing.
As Alleluia's now they sing.

I did not know you or your family. But I don’t believe there is a person in the world whose heart has not been touched by this tragedy. There is nothing in this life that brings us more sorrow than to lose loved ones in death. Even harder to bear is when the lives of loved ones are lost due to an unexpected tragedy. The shock can be overwhelming.
Be assured that God promises that he…”is near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalms 34:18) Nothing can bring us more peace of mind than the inspired words of… the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) Take comfort and solace in the Bible's message as we all await the time when GOD…” will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:3,4)

Dennis, Bev, Angie and Justin,
There are no words that we could say to ease your pain only time can do that. Reading all of the tributes about Brian tells the story of a wonderful Son and Brother. How proud you must be of Brian and all he accomplished. May you find comfort in knowing so many people are thinking about your family as you go through this. Our prayers are with you all. We are strangers yet we belong to the same family - the family of God. Our hearts have been heavy for you during this time. Our thoughts and prayers have been constant. Understanding the whys and hows may never be understood but what we do understand is that we are His children and we get to live - even in our dying - with our Father forever. Brian's life will not be forgotten - people will talk about the life he led - the God he served - and yes, good will indeed come out of something so very tragic. Please accept our deepest sympathies at this time. You will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers in days and even years ahead.

Dennis,

My heart goes out to you and your family. Though I never met Brian, just reading about him let me know all I needed to know and that is he is in the loving hands of the Lord right now. Weeping may endure for the night but joy will surely come in the morning. Continue to be blessed.
April 23, 2007
It seems so trite to say something like "I'm sorry" at a devastating time like this. As a person directly affected by Sept. 11, I promise that while you will never be the same, you will find some semblance of peace. Give yourself all the time you need for the healing process. It is a process that you will be in the rest of your life but your Higher Power will be by your side.

Peace be the journey.

As one of the many who knew Brian online, I can tell you he was a bright, intelligent person who treated everyone with respect. With the passing of Brian and many at VT, the world has lost some great people, many who had bright futures. Brian's legacy will be as a hard working, loving Christian. God will guide the Bluhm family through these times, with Brian standing at his side. God bless you all.

The loss of your son is and will continue to be shared by the entire world. I work in an elementary school in Virginia and all of your students from Pre Kind - 5th grade and including the faculty and staff were all dressed in hokie colors on Friday and we observed our moment of silence at 12 Noon in memory of your son and the other 31 wonderful people, as did so many people around the world.
You are in my thoughts and prayers,
With heartfelt sympathy,

I did not know Brian, but when I was at Tech from 1982 to 1987 I was very involved in the Baptist Student Union. While I was there I discipled a young man named Daryl Cook. And now, even though I am no longer at Va Tech the effects of the encouragement I gave to others still reverberates. And so, I hope it will be some comfort to you to know that although Brian is no longer at Tech, the effects of his ministry will live on in the lives he touched. And these lives he touched will spread themselves all over this world.

April 21, 2007
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I AM here......When you feel most alone, abandoned; when you feel that the world has turn against you, know that I AM here. The tremendous pain and suffering you are experiencing now, is not meant for you to bear alone; MY SON is there to help carry the burden. Just as Simeon was called upon to carry the Cross when it was too much for CHRIST to bear on HIS own, CHRIST is there with you now, waiting to bear upon HIS shoulder your pain, anger and sorrow; if you only ask. Though you loose yourself in suffering and in grief, know that I AM here to pull you to myself and to heal the wounds of affliction. If your faith in ME be tested, know that MY patience is eternal. If you stray and disown me, know that I AM here; even if it take a life time, I AM here to welcome you back with open arms and rejoicing. For I AM ETERNAL.

May the Lord watch over and give you strength. You will always remain in my thoughts and prayers.

There is nothing that can be said that will ease the hurt and pain. Your son is already touching lives, even in his passing as HE has helped me to put my own 'trials' into complete perspective. Reading about him and how he just shined 'light' and 'joy' reminds me of how I am, and how I always desire to be. I am so glad to hear that some day I will be in a place to be able to meet your son, in person, and be able to get the opportunity to share an eternity with someone who sounded like an incredible individual. Draw closer to the Lord in this time of mourning, and let HIM know exactly how you feel (the good, the bad, and the positive). The entire Bluhm family is sincerely in our prayers! I have a feeling that due to your son's love for other people that there are many more that will be joining us in that blessed day! I honestly cried tears of joy when I saw what ultimately mattered to Brian in life! AMEN to that!

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Sorrowful tears
well up in my eyes
For those who have fallen
like rain from the skies

Each life was so precious
so many are gone
May they shine now from Heaven
like a new morning dawn

I cannot make sense
of this tragic event
I offer my heart
and my prayers have been sent

Each one had a dream
Each one had a goal
Each one had a family
Each one has a soul

Life must go on
for loved ones so shattered
Reach to their hearts
and show them it mattered

For families so lost
For friends left to cope
I greive for their hearts
I pray for their hope

In memory of those who have fallen and for those left to grieve.
For those left injured in harms way...
I pray for peace and healing of your hearts.

To the family of Brian,

My nephew, Matt Conner, considered Brian as one of his best friends, and I know they had wonderful times together at VT and after. I just wanted to reach out to to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Dennis & Bev,

We are in shock to learn of Brian's passing. When the news first started breaking I remembered he had decided to go to VT. You obviously did a wonderful job in raising him to be a very fine young man. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

God Bless, Bill & Darla

Dear Bev and Dennis,

I have prayed for you and your daughter, ever since Brenda told me that Brian was one of the victims in this horrible tragedy. I know that ONLY Jesus can give you a supernatural peace and comfort through this, and I believe that he is. What would we do without Him. I read on a Fox News site that Brian most wanted to be remembered that he is a Christian. Brian is JUST FINE, isn't he?? I am so very sorry. God bless you.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

April 20, 2007
God bless you and bring comfort to you now and always.
April 20, 2007
May God comfort you and hold your hand through this tragedy.
April 20, 2007

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

What a gift to a parent, family member and friend to know that this young man is a child of God. You can see Jesus all over his smile and knowing that, may God continue to comfort you during this time.

This is a tragedy for all Americans. I know we are thousands of miles away, but we feel your grief and would take it from you if we could. Take one day at a time. It's not true that time will heal. I know that firsthand. But what will carry you is the grace of God and his love that he has for you. And, his strong hand that will gently lead and guide you each day if you trust him. Lean on him for he is strong as we our weak. We're praying for you all that you'll be strengthened and comforted with Gods peace.

Someone gave this to me and I pass faith on to you!

Virginia Tech Family,

"AS YOU TAKE
one step at a time,
HOLDING GOD’S HAND
And letting Him lead,
HE WILL GET YOU
Where you need
TO GO.”

Father God,
I don’t want to take one step without You. I reach up for Your hand and ask that You lead me in Your way. Thank You that no matter where I am right now… You will make a path from where I am to where I need to be, and You will lead me on it. I love that Your grace abounds to me in that way.

My thoughts are with all the family and friends. I cannot tell you how deeply saddend my community is. As I watched the drama unfold, I couldn't contain the tears streaming down my face. I am the PTA President at our school and I am in the process of organizing an assembley to take preventative measures should something like this ever arise at our school. It hurts to know it takes something like this to open eyes world-wide. Words can't console the way you feel. I hope you find some solace knowing millions are with you in your time of need.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Take comfort in the fact that you will see your loved one again in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father Jesus Christ.
